Ascend by Swati M.H. (Elements of Rapture #2)

 πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

Garrett is an amazing book boyfriend! All the great tropes in this book had me hooked from the start.

I love a protective Garrett, especially his bond with sassy little Meena. Children are my weakness in romances, and once G gave her a nickname, I knew he owned my heart.

If you love a good single parent, friends to more, marriage of convenience story - I promise you'll adore the connection between Bella and Garrett.

While you don't need to read Adrift first, the character development and side characters are completely worth devouring both books.

**Fake Relationship
**Marriage of Convenience
**Single Mom
**Witty Romance

SUMMARY:

Did I plan to marry the single mom I've wanted for years on a drunken whim in Vegas? No.

Do I regret it? Heck no!

Bella Patel might think we're just friends, or that I'm nothing but a playboy pilot, or even that this marriage is only a temporary charade...but I'm hell-bent on proving her wrong.

If she's skittish and stubborn, then I'm dependable and determined.

So, when her scumbag baby-daddy threatens her and she asks me to double down on our ruse, I'm only too eager to comply.

My condition? For her and her daughter to move in with me. You know, for 'optics' sake.

Because by the end of this marriage contract, the only jackpot I want to win is a chance at forever with her.

The Intern by Marni Mann (The Dalton Family #4)

 πŸ“ŽπŸ“ŽπŸ“ŽπŸ“ŽπŸ“Ž

My favorite in the series so far! Filled with super hot tension and witty banter, Declan and Hannah were everything I've been hoping for and more.

I've loved every book in this series, and truly enjoyed watching the tropes unfold in this one. From their undeniable connection when they meet, to the heat coming off the page, I was captivated until the very end.

The plot was well thought out, and this was quite possibly the steamiest book Marni has written yet. If I could extend it so the storyline lasted me another month, it would still be over too soon.

**Enemies to Lovers
**Workplace Romance

SUMMARY

In the legal world, everyone knows my last name. So, when Declan Shaw -- the hottest, most ruthless and sought-after litigator in the state -- comes in to mentor my class's mock trial, I decide not to reveal that piece of personal information.

I want a one-on-one with him like I'm any other law student, especially when we go out to celebrate after class.

But the one-on-one ends with us in the alley behind the bar.

With us stripping off our clothes.

With me screaming his name.

It's desperate-to-have-you, no-holds-barred, downright filthy sex.

And then, he ghosts me, like a complete alphahole.

But a few weeks later, when I walk into The Dalton Group -- my family's law firm -- where I'm starting my internship, my new boss is waiting for me.

The man I despise.

The man I can still taste in my fantasies.

Declan Shaw.

Keeper of Enchanted Rooms by Charlie N. Holmberg (Whimbrel House #1)

πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»

There isn't any genre Charlie can't write! This was the perfect story to wrap up the spooky season, and I especially loved the audiobook narration as well.

The blend of magic, mystery and romance was better than I could've hoped for, and I can't wait for the next book in the Whimbrel House series.

If you could take the enchanted characters from the Beast's castle and sprinkle them with a little magic from Hogwarts, then you'd have Keeper of Enchanted Rooms.

A delightful book that will draw you in and keep you on your toes until the very last page, wondering how it will all unfold, while in awe of the interwoven twists along the way.

**Haunted House
**Historical
**Mystery
**Romance

SUMMARY:

Rhode Island, 1846. Estranged from his family, writer Merritt Fernsby is surprised when he inherits a remote estate in the Narragansett Bay. Though the property has been uninhabited for more than a century, Merritt is ready to call it home -- until he realizes he has no choice. With its doors slamming shut and locking behind him, Whimbrel House is not about to let Merritt leave. Ever.

Hulda Larkin of the Boston Institute for the Keeping of Enchanted Rooms has been trained in taming such structures in order to preserve their historical and magical significance. She understands the dangers of bespelled homes given to tantrums. She advises that it's in Merritt's best interest to make Whimbrel House their ally. To do that, she'll need to move in, too.

Prepared as she is with augury, a set of magic tools, and a new staff trained in the uncanny, Hulda's work still proves unexpectedly difficult. She and Merritt grow closer as the investigation progresses, but the house's secrets run deeper than they anticipated. And the sentient walls aren't their only concern -- something outside is coming for the enchantments of Whimbrel House, and it could be more dangerous than what rattles within.

A Brush with Love by Mazey Eddings

🦷🦷🦷🦷🦷

My favorite book of 2022! I'm honestly still in shock this is the DEBUT release from Mazey Eddings, and can't wait to see what else she has in store for readers in the future.

As someone with severe dental anxiety, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book, but it has everything I love and a few points that hit close to home for me, so I easily devoured the audiobook in one sitting.

With multiple POV's, you get to see the story unfold from both Dan and Harper, which is even more entertaining since they each have their very own opinionated views on dentistry and falling in love (distractions.)

From start to finish, I wasn't able to stop listening to this beautifully written tale, and one of the best parts was the friends who go to endless lengths to try and bring them together. Just their shenanigans alone are worth reading this book for, along with:

**Anxiety Rep
**Cinnamon Roll Hero
**Debut Author
**Dental Students
**Meddling Friends
**Slow Burn

SUMMARY:

Harper is anxiously awaiting placement into a top oral surgery residency program when she crashes (literally) into Dan. Harper would rather endure a Novocaine-free root canal than face any distractions, even one this adorable.

A first-year dental student with a family legacy to contend with, Dan doesn't have the same passion for pulling teeth that Harper does. Though he finds himself falling for her, he is willing to play by Harper's rules.

So with the greatest of intentions and the poorest of follow-throughs, the two set out to be "just friends." But as they get to know each other better, Harper fears that trading fillings for feelings may make her lose control and can't risk her carefully ordered life coming undone, no matter how drool-worthy Dan is.

Blood, gore and extra-long roots? No problem. The idea of falling in love? Torture.

Fake Husband for Christmas by Susan Hatler (Christmas Mountain #9)

πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

The perfect blend of romance and holiday magic! A wonderful RomCom filled with snowball fights, cookies, and dressing up as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Cal Bradley is definitely the scene-stealer of this story, with his witty charm, clever nicknames, and unfailing devotion to make sure every child has their Christmas wish fulfilled.

Macy Wilcox is completely flustered when she's paired up with Cal to play the holiday Claus couple, with his perpetual tardiness and always showing up at the most random places.

These two were such a delight to watch interact and grow. I found myself smiling so much that my cheeks hurt the next day. This is a must read for anyone looking for a clean romance with a whimsical holiday spirit!

SUMMARY:

When Macy Wilcox agrees to play Mrs. Claus for the children of Christmas Mountain this holiday season, she has a firm idea of what her Mr. Claus should be like: ambitious (how could he not be with a whole world to cover in one night?), logistically-minded, and good at organized list keeping. But when Cal Bradley turns up as Santa, he's the opposite of what she expects.

First, he's late. Second, he comes from straight off the mountain so his fake beard looks windswept and he's wearing ski boots instead of highly polished black boots with gold buckles. And third, Santa is not supposed to have abs like that.

There's trouble at the North Pole from the very start as Macy, the realistic, down-to-earth business owner, and Cal, the eternal optimist and fun-loving kids' ski instructor, disagree on everything from the Naughty and Nice list to the ingredients for the sugar cookies.

Every time Cal promises to deliver a child an extravagant gift, Macy tries to step in and keep things realistic. And every time Macy tries to lower expectations, Cal raises them even higher. Macy believes Cal can't come through on these promises. But the more he spreads his holiday magic, the more she wants to believe in his promises. With a little Christmas magic, Cal might be able to show Macy that the most unpractical, ridiculous, eternally optimistic gift of all is love.

The Dating Playbook by Farrah Rochon (The Boyfriend Project #2)

🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

Loved it with my whole heart! This was the perfect fake dating story between an NFL star and a personal trainer. If you're looking for a great romcom to end your summer, this is the one you want.

Taylor has debt coming out of her ears, so when Jamal offers her an insane amount of money and the opportunity to get her business off the ground, in order to get him back into shape, she can't say no.

Taylor is such a fierce and lovable character that a lot of us can relate to. I also enjoyed the flirty banter between the two, and felt the story had the perfect blend of humor, romance and realism. These two are one of my new favorite couples, and I can't wait for more in this series!

I was lucky enough to listen to the audiobook thanks to an advanced copy from Hachette Audio, and it brings the characters to life perfectly.

SUMMARY:

When a personal trainer agrees to fake date her client, all rules are out the window in this delightful romantic comedy from the USA Today bestselling author of The Boyfriend Project!

When it comes to personal training, Taylor Powell kicks serious butt. Unfortunately, her bills are piling up, rent is due, and the money situation is dire. Taylor needs more than the support of her new best friends, Samiah and London. She needs a miracle.

And Jamar Dixon might just be it. The oh-so-fine former footballer wants back into the NFL, and he wants Taylor to train him. There's just one catch -- no one can know what they're doing. But when they're accidentally outed as a couple, Taylor's game plan is turned completely upside down. Is Jamar just playing to win...or is he playing for keeps?

The Nanny and the Nerd by Krista Sandor (Nanny Love Match #1)

πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

I'm obsessed with this new series! As soon as I heard the author was creating a new series about nannies, I knew I'd be all in for it.

Rowen Gale is a gamer, creator and uncle, now with custody of his adorable niece Phoebe. He's determined to make his company a success, and knows that he's not wired to have love in his life.

Penny Fennimore is an aspiring writer who takes a chance when her path crosses with a match-making nanny agent. She quickly falls for Phoebe and wants nothing but the best for her.

Rowen is an incredibly hot nerd, that was a wall around his heart. Penny is new to the tech world (she still owns a flip phone), and stumbles across a way to not only help with her own writers block, but assist Rowen with his latest project.

I highly enjoyed the refreshing honesty of Penny's gal pals, and can't wait for each of them to get their own story. I loved everything about this story, but wanted to slap the smile off her mothers face.

This book had me hooked from the start, leaving me craving pizza and chocolate chip cookies. Filled with tender moments, plenty of heat, and witty humor -- this is one you don't want to miss out on, no matter what genre you read!

πŸ˜„ Comedy

 πŸ’§ Drama

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

Three things NOT to do when nannying for a video gaming mogul (aka the hottest nerd on the planet):

#1 Do not get lost in his dreamy green eyes.

#2 Do not salivate over his rock-hard abs.

#3 No matter what happens, do not fall for his super-nerdy dirty talk!

Penny Fennimore is not winning at life. An aspiring writer with a monster-sized cased of writer's block, she's got bills to pay and barely a dime to her name.

Enter the exclusive Nanny Match Agency and an opportunity to make bank.

The job: A cushy, live-in nanny position caring for tech billionaire Rowen Gale's six-year-old niece.

The problem?

Her hot nerd of a boss!

They're opposites in every way. He's the king of hi-tech, and she uses a flip phone from 2002. She's not even sure he's 100% human. With his muted expression, the man might as well be one of the robots from his video games until their eyes meet, and the attraction meter explodes.

She's got to put the kibosh on her libido. But the universe doesn't always play nice.

When Mr. Robot-Bedroom-Eyes goes MIA, she marches up to his fancy-pants video gaming company to give him a piece of her mind -- which doesn't go as planned.

Instead, she spies a video game storyboard. It's a hot mess, and she can't help but dive and rewrite it.

Did anyone ask for her opinion? That's a no!

The positive? She's writing!

The negative? Her boss needs her to keep it up. Turns out, this video game requires a complete overhaul, and she's the only one who can give him what he wants.

Now, she's not only caring for his niece. She's with him morning, noon, and night.

And that's where it gets complicated.

When he looks at her, she gets a glimpse of what's behind his hardened veneer. And being with this man feels right, like the forever kind of right.

Her heart is on the line.

Could this nanny match be the match that changes everything, or will it be game over for the nanny and the nerd?

Southern Secrets by Natasha Madison (Southern #7)

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Everyone deserves to be loved! Southern Secrets is a story of overcoming your past, while learning to rely on others and open your heart.

Amelia has been hurt by an ex and refuses to open her heart to pain again, but the chemistry between her and a certain new ranch hand is enough to make them combust.

Asher knows what it's like to grow up with nothing, so when a fire causes everything he owns to go up in flames, he's forced to rely on the generosity of others.

This was a bit slow-paced, but worth the wait while the story unfolds. I loved the element of suspense behind the scenes and the fiercely protective family members. Another wonderful addition to the Southern series and I can't wait for more!

 πŸ’§ Drama

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

Amelia

Never make the same mistake twice is my motto. After being left in the dust of an old pickup truck, I promised that I would take care of myself and never trust another man with a sexy smirk and cowboy boots.

Then he showed up, and he's everywhere I turn. He's at the barn, he's at the bar, and now, he's my roommate. He makes me want things I shouldn't.

Asher

I grew up in foster care, and on my eighteenth birthday, I was set free. I spent years coasting from town to town. Staying wasn't a part of my plan and neither was love, especially with someone off limits.

This was all supposed to be temporary. I'm just hoping my secret doesn't destroy the only family I've ever known.

Buried secrets are never buried for long.

The Rookie by Kendall Ryan (Looking to Score #3)

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠

Kendall Ryan steals my heart again! 4.5 stars - I'm always a sucker for a good sports romance, but this one mostly takes place outside of the sports world, and I loved every moment of it.

Logan Tate is spiraling out of control after the sudden loss of his father. It's causing him to act out during game play and when he's forced to take some time away and get some help, he's left having to face the one thing he's been running from...his family.

Summer is trying to establish herself as a sports therapist, so if that means pursuing Logan to his family home in order to convince him to give her a chance, she doesn't let anything stop her.

I loved watching Logan's entire family embrace Summer as one of their own. The family dynamic, especially between the siblings, will warm your heart and have you laughing through tears.

A great story of personal growth, overcoming loss, and discovering what truly makes you happy in life. I'm definitely going back and starting this series from the beginning, but don't miss out on this one!

 πŸ’§ Drama

πŸ’‹ Romance

πŸ’ Sports

SUMMARY:

He has everything a man could want. A lucrative hockey contract. Adoring fans. A family who loves him.

But he's about to throw it all away. Logan Tate's name is dominating the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Instead of goals and assists, the talented young defenseman has been racking up fights and suspensions.

I work with athletes who are struggling, but Logan's different. He's not just going to blow his season, but his entire career. And now he can't return to the ice until he deals with his issues, but the stubborn man won't let anyone get close enough to help.

Which is why I packed up and followed him to his family's property in the remote mountains of Colorado. He can't avoid me here.

The only problem?

I can't avoid him either. He's chopping wood and building fires, rescuing my car from snowy ditches, and inviting me to Sunday dinners with his loud extended family. He's a whole lot of man, but beneath all those hard edges is an unexpected tenderness.

Tempted or not, I have to stay out of his bed and get him back to the ice...no matter how difficult that might be.

Kissing the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox (Circle B Ranch #5)

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠

A great example of a genuine friendship! 4.5 stars - Kissing the Cowboy is the story of two best friends that are always there for each other, no matter what, but the last thing they want to do is risk the friendship they both cherish more than anything in the world.

Harper is trying to keep her growing business afloat, while staying true to her followers and customers, but when she feels pressured by her rival that loves to copy everything she does, she needs a rescue from her best friend.

Ethan Bishop has loved Harper from afar, but has never wanted to say anything and risk losing her as a friend. When the opportunity arises for him to pretend to be her fiancΓ©, he doesn't have to think twice about "acting" like he's in love with her.

This friends to lovers romance is the perfect summer read. There's plenty of steam and laughter all the way til the end and I can't wait for more in this series!

 πŸ’§ Drama

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

After drinking a bottle of wine, Harper tells her business rival that she recently got engaged. Once the hangover wears off, Harper realizes she now needs a fake fiancΓ© or to admit she lied. Wanting to avoid the backlash, she asks her childhood best friend for a favor.

She can pretend she's not in love with him, but her traitorous body reveals otherwise.

Ethan Bishop will do anything for Harper, even if it's crazy and means risking his heart. Pretending to be engaged to the woman he's always loved proves to be difficult -- especially when repressed feelings bubble to the surface.

He only wants to help, but everyone in his life sees through his facade.

It's hard to know what's real or fake when their private moments turn intimate. When they cross the line and fall between the sheets, the truth is undeniable.

Just as they feared, their friendship's no longer the same. However, one thing's certain -- there's no going back now.

Yoga Pant Nation by Laurie Gelman (Class Mom #3)

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

Hilarious series that only gets better! Yoga Pant Nation is the 3rd book in the Class Mom series and the funniest by far.

Jen Dixon is back in this story for Max's last year at William Taft Elementary, with drama a-plenty. Her parents are showing signs that they need long-term care, and there's a custody battle for her granddaughter that could result in her living out of the country.

I love the unfiltered humor in which Jen tackles life's problems. She has a genuinely kind heart, but her abrupt people skills often have to be taken with a grain of salt. I honestly wish there were more people in the world like her, and I'd LOVE to attend a PTA meeting with that kind of mom.

Lots of family dynamics come into play with this book, taking you on a journey of laughter, emotions, and the genuine feel-good comedy that I've come to love from this series!

πŸ˜„ Comedy

SUMMARY:

Jen Dixon of Overland Park, Kansas -- fearless mother of a fifth-grade boy and two thirty-something daughters -- is used to juggling a lot, from her mission to become a spin instructor, to stepping in as the most acerbic class mom ever (again), to taking care of her two-year-old granddaughter. But when the PTA president throws her a mandate to raise $10,000 for the fifth-grade class, even unflappable Jen is going to need more than her regular spin class to get her through this final year at William Taft Elementary School.

In the midst of new complications -- organizing the class overnight to Topeka, an unexpected spin class fan in the form of her husband's crazy ex-wife, and trying to navigate her parents' sudden descent into apparent delusions -- Jen hardly has the patience to listen to yet another half-baked idea (come on ladies, another wrapping paper sale?) from WeFUKCT (We Fundraise Until Kingdom Come Team), her fundraising committee. But if anyone can get elementary parents to pull off the impossible, it's Jen Dixon.

With her always irreverent and laugh-out-loud humor -- boldly holding forth on those things you're thinking, but would never dare say out loud -- Laurie Gelman shines a light on the indignities and hilarities of modern parenting.

Out of Bounds by Claire Hastings (Atlanta Rising Football Club #1)

⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽

This one scored in my book! Out of Bounds is a sports romance with grit and heart. Characters that you'll fall in love with, and a strong heroine that keeps fighting for what she deserves.

Felicity Sutherland is a fierce boss, fighting against the prejudice in her family to achieve the position in her fathers company that should rightfully be hers. She puts on a strong front, but inside she's still just a daughter that wants her dad to finally see her worth.

Gunnar Gracin has retired from professional sports, and loves his job as the new head coach. He's thrown for a loop when it's revealed he has a grown adult daughter that he never knew existed, and he's also forced to work with the one woman he shouldn't have any interest in.

There's such great character development throughout this story. Once Felicity let down her guard (even if it wasn't intentional), I couldn't put the book down. I also loved the watching Gunnar take on the protective dad role, even though it's all new to him.

A wonderful start to a new series, this is one sports romance that will keep you captivated from start to finish. Even if you're not a fan of Felicity at the start, give her a chance, and I promise you'll be rooting for her before you know it!

πŸ’‹ Romance

⚽ Sports

SUMMARY:

Welcome to the Atlanta Rising Football Club, where the temperature isn't the only thing turning up the heat...

Felicity Sutherland knows what people think of her. She just doesn't care. Her attitude is her armor, and it hasn't failed her yet. Thick skin and working hard in the male-dominated sports industry placed her dream job within reach. And as she vies to become president of the Atlanta Rising Football Club, there isn't a competitor, or a distractingly handsome co-worker, that can get in her way.

The only games Gunnar Gracin has time for are the ones he coaches on the pitch. But life just keeps bending the ball, especially where the women in his life are concerned. The death of his wife over a decade ago was a devastating loss. Discovering an adult daughter from an encounter he doesn't remember changed all the rules. And working for the frosty, sharp-tongued Felicity is downright infuriating.

But as Gunnar and Felicity spend more time together, the tension between them sizzles like a hot summer night. And the moment Gunnar gets a taste of Felicity's smart mouth, he decides to throw the playbook out the window. If no one knows what they're up to, giving in to temptation doesn't feel so out of bounds. That is, until life gets in the way and the whistle is blown. Will it be a red card for Gunnar and Felicity's secret romance?

Out of Bounds is a standalone enemies-to-lovers, age gap contemporary romance. Enjoy it on its own, or as part of the series, with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA!

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

❤❤❤❤❤

One of the best thrillers I've read! I devoured this book in one day and couldn't put it down. The writing makes you feel like you're right there along with Pippa as she investigates a 5 year old murder for a class project.

The only issue I had with it was the verbal variations as it was clearly written with British terms, but I've gotten used to most of the differences from previous books.

This was a roller coaster ride that I never wanted to end, with plot twists you won't see coming, which is a rarity for me anymore, so I was pleasantly surprised. I immediately bought the books in hardback so my co-worker could borrow them, mainly so I'd have someone else to discuss my theories with!

πŸ™ˆ Mystery

πŸ’€ Thriller

SUMMARY:

The case is closed. Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by Sal Singh. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it.

But having grown up in the same small town was consumed by the murder, Pippa Fitz-Amobi isn't so sure. When she chooses the case as the topic for her final year project, she starts to uncover secrets that someone in town desperately wants to stay hidden. And if the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?

Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

I want to binge-watch rom-coms now! Waiting for Tom Hanks was a pleasant surprise for my rom-com loving soul. This is the second time reading this and I loved it even more with the audiobook bringing the characters to life.

This feel-good story will remind you of all the amazing reasons why you love films like "You've Got Mail", "Two Weeks Notice", etc. There were so many points that I related with Annie, especially our mutual love for all things Nora Ephron.

If you're looking for a great summer vacation read, I'd highly recommend packing this one in your suitcase! Such a delightful look at not only the movie business, but how relationships are viewed from someone who truly believes in happily ever afters and meet-cute's.

πŸ˜„ Comedy

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

Can a romcom-obsessed romantic finally experience the meet-cute she always dreamed of or will reality never compare to fiction, in this charming debut novel from Kerry Winfrey.

Annie Cassidy dreams of being the next Nora Ephron. She spends her days writing screenplays, rewatching Sleepless in Seattle, and waiting for her movie-perfect meet-cute. If she could just find her own Tom Hanks -- a man who's sweet, sensitive, and possibly owns a houseboat -- her problems would disappear and her life would be perfect. But Tom Hanks is nowhere in sight.

When a movie starts filming in her neighborhood and Annie gets a job on set, it seems like a sign. Then Annie meets the lead actor, Drew Danforth, a cocky prankster who couldn't be less like Tom Hanks if he tried. Their meet-cute is more of a meet-fail, but soon Annie finds herself sharing some classic rom-com moments with Drew. Her Tom Hanks can't be an actor who's leaving town in a matter of days...can he?

Since You've Been Gone by Samantha Chase (Magnolia Sound #8)

🐾🐾🐾🐾

Best friends and rescue animals = sold! Since You've Been Gone is a story of coming home and following your heart.

While coming home for the weekend seemed like a good escape from the recent fame he's gained on social media, Garrett is forced to face the only woman he's ever loved.

Emma has a lot on her plate, so when her childhood best friend comes back to visit, she's left reeling from what her life could've been.

The genuine friendship between Emma and Garrett is so heart-warming, especially his bond with the rest of her family. The animal rescue aspect will tug at your heart, and I loved the entire story! Magnolia Sound is a town I'd love to live in.

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

Emmaline Ryan has always been the smart, shy girl who plays it safe. But all that's gotten her is a divorce and a mountain of debt to pay off courtesy of her ex-husband. Needless to say, she's stopped believing in miracles and fairy tales a long time ago. Except now she's in desperate need of one of those miracles if she wants to save her family's animal rescue. Emmaline knows just where to go for help, but that means putting her faith in the hands of the man who once broke her heart without even realizing it.

Garrett Coleman met the girl of his dreams when he was just eight years old -- only, he never told her. But that was years ago. Now, Garrett has become a reluctant social media star -- the shirtless #HotDoc and #SexyVet who saves scared and helpless animals. Sure, it's been great for business, but he'd give anything for people to see the real him, preferably with a shirt on. When a visit home to Magnolia Sound has him running into the shy girl he left behind, he sees his chance at the future he never thought he deserved.

Unfortunately, he's not the only one back in town, and wooing Emmaline just became a lot more complicated. A lot has changed since he's been gone and Garrett is going to have to prove that he's up to the challenge. Emmaline might still be the sweet and quiet girl he left behind, but he's not sure she's willing to wait.

The Perfect Catch by Meghan Quinn

⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

Five seconds has never been so hot! The Perfect Catch has brought me my new book boyfriend. I'm so enamored with broody, grumpy Walker and will fight anyone for the chance at five blissful seconds with him.

A forbidden work romance between two people who need each other more than they know. Not only from a career standpoint, but they have both lost a sibling.

Walker is a dirty talking, grumpy and sexy catcher that has lost his love for the game. He's come to terms with everyone hating him, but is forced to turn things around.

Kate is exactly what Walker needs: strong, sassy and won't take any of his crap. As she slowly chips away at his outer wall, she can see he's really just a teddy bear that has been forced to put a guard up around his heart.

This has all the steam, humor and character love that we've come to know and expect from Meghan Quinn, but this is probably the first time I didn't get my heart ripped out by the author, so that was a happy surprise!

I immediately purchased the book and it's my favorite one in the series so far, which if you know the rest of the guys, that's a tough decision to make! Definitely a home run in my book and I can't wait to listen to the audiobook soon as well.

SUMMARY:

"Kiss me. Just this once...please Walker."

Those whispered words were my undoing...

As the most hated player in baseball, I had two options: either clean up my image or pack my bags. Being traded wasn't an option which only meant one thing, I had to become compliant.

That's how I found myself sharing a small bistro table with Kate Chapman, the Chicago Bobbies newest PR Manager. Devastatingly beautiful, vastly intelligent, and incredibly cunning, she knows exactly how to handle my grumpy demeanor.

It was supposed to be simple. Book some PR events, show up, smile for the camera, and be done. But one massive mistake on my end sends me into the trenches with Kate, forcing me to open up to her.

Innocent glances turn into cordial encounters. Secret touches turn into tempting invitations. And dangerous nights alone turn into consuming desperation.

I've never wanted a woman as much as I want her. And I know she wants me, but there's a no fraternizing with the players rule. Neither of us can afford to lose our jobs, but we also can't seem to keep our hands off each other either.
