Keeper of Enchanted Rooms by Charlie N. Holmberg (Whimbrel House #1)

πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»

There isn't any genre Charlie can't write! This was the perfect story to wrap up the spooky season, and I especially loved the audiobook narration as well.

The blend of magic, mystery and romance was better than I could've hoped for, and I can't wait for the next book in the Whimbrel House series.

If you could take the enchanted characters from the Beast's castle and sprinkle them with a little magic from Hogwarts, then you'd have Keeper of Enchanted Rooms.

A delightful book that will draw you in and keep you on your toes until the very last page, wondering how it will all unfold, while in awe of the interwoven twists along the way.

**Haunted House
**Historical
**Mystery
**Romance

SUMMARY:

Rhode Island, 1846. Estranged from his family, writer Merritt Fernsby is surprised when he inherits a remote estate in the Narragansett Bay. Though the property has been uninhabited for more than a century, Merritt is ready to call it home -- until he realizes he has no choice. With its doors slamming shut and locking behind him, Whimbrel House is not about to let Merritt leave. Ever.

Hulda Larkin of the Boston Institute for the Keeping of Enchanted Rooms has been trained in taming such structures in order to preserve their historical and magical significance. She understands the dangers of bespelled homes given to tantrums. She advises that it's in Merritt's best interest to make Whimbrel House their ally. To do that, she'll need to move in, too.

Prepared as she is with augury, a set of magic tools, and a new staff trained in the uncanny, Hulda's work still proves unexpectedly difficult. She and Merritt grow closer as the investigation progresses, but the house's secrets run deeper than they anticipated. And the sentient walls aren't their only concern -- something outside is coming for the enchantments of Whimbrel House, and it could be more dangerous than what rattles within.

Kissing the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox (Circle B Ranch #5)

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠

A great example of a genuine friendship! 4.5 stars - Kissing the Cowboy is the story of two best friends that are always there for each other, no matter what, but the last thing they want to do is risk the friendship they both cherish more than anything in the world.

Harper is trying to keep her growing business afloat, while staying true to her followers and customers, but when she feels pressured by her rival that loves to copy everything she does, she needs a rescue from her best friend.

Ethan Bishop has loved Harper from afar, but has never wanted to say anything and risk losing her as a friend. When the opportunity arises for him to pretend to be her fiancΓ©, he doesn't have to think twice about "acting" like he's in love with her.

This friends to lovers romance is the perfect summer read. There's plenty of steam and laughter all the way til the end and I can't wait for more in this series!

 πŸ’§ Drama

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

After drinking a bottle of wine, Harper tells her business rival that she recently got engaged. Once the hangover wears off, Harper realizes she now needs a fake fiancΓ© or to admit she lied. Wanting to avoid the backlash, she asks her childhood best friend for a favor.

She can pretend she's not in love with him, but her traitorous body reveals otherwise.

Ethan Bishop will do anything for Harper, even if it's crazy and means risking his heart. Pretending to be engaged to the woman he's always loved proves to be difficult -- especially when repressed feelings bubble to the surface.

He only wants to help, but everyone in his life sees through his facade.

It's hard to know what's real or fake when their private moments turn intimate. When they cross the line and fall between the sheets, the truth is undeniable.

Just as they feared, their friendship's no longer the same. However, one thing's certain -- there's no going back now.

Hard Pass by Sara Ney (Trophy Boyfriends #1)

⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

Sara Ney is the master of characters! Hard Pass is centered around the art of selling baseball cards, but instead of money, there just might be hearts involved. I loved every page and never wanted this story to end!

Noah and Miranda were such a great surprise for me and I enjoyed every minute of their interactions. Filled with awkward moments and humor, this is without a doubt one of my new favorite RomComs!
I'll never be able to look at baseball cards the same way again, and I couldn't be more grateful! This was such a feel-good romance with plenty of laughter and witty banter, you won't be able to put it down once you start reading.

πŸ˜„ Comedy
πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

"Hard pass."
That's what the last girl I slept with said when she got her first sober glimpse of me. She laughed, walked out of my penthouse -- and I never saw her again. It doesn't matter that I'm a rich, professional athlete; what mattered was my face. Beauty might only be skin deep for some -- but I know better.

"Pay up."
That's what the last girl I spoke to said over the phone when I made her an offer she couldn't refuse. Desperate to sell a set of rare baseball cards, she's clever and entertaining. I'm instantly smitten, but nowhere ready to reveal myself. Thank God she has no idea who I am -- or what I look like.
I'm a professional athlete -- how hard can playing the love game be?

Dark Promise by Danielle Rose (Darkhaven Saga #3)

❤❤❤❤❤

Dark Promise takes this series to another level! Each book is filled with new plot twists and surprises that I never see coming.

Just when Ava is starting to feel comfortable with her new vampire coven, she discovers that her best friend has disappeared. Torn between the pain of how the witches have recently treated her, there's still nothing she wouldn't do for Liv.

Definitely read each book in order, but hang on for a ride into a world that will have your head spinning. Beautifully written with wonderful characters, I love watching Ava grow into her powers through discovery.

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ‘½ Paranormal

SUMMARY:

Ava Lopez's best friend from childhood is missing, and her former coven has asked for her help to find her. Despite all the paint the witches have treated Ava to with their rejection, she is determined to find Liv --even though her new allies harbor resentment.

Ava hopes finding Liv will put an end to the feud between the two groups, but she realizes that to help the witches, she must turn her back on the vampires. But this is the least of her problems.

Ava must choose sides and test loyalties with a decision that comes at a cost -- one even Ava, with her ever-growing powers and connection to spirit magic, never could have foreseen. To repent for her disloyalty, Ava must bind herself to a dark promise. A promise no magic can break.

Always Yours by Kennedy Fox (Roommate Duet #6)

❤❤❤❤❤

Always Yours is a perfect conclusion to this series! With plenty of ups and downs, every book in the Roommate series (compiled of 3 separate duets), has been filled with one twist after another, causing readers to have sleepless nights...and we wouldn't have it any other way!

This book picks up after the cliffhanger in Always Mine, so you must read that one first. Kennedy Fox are masters at manipulation, pulling you into one scenario and drawing you in, then just when you think you have things figured out, they twist the story in a way you won't see coming.

All your favorite characters from the previous books make several appearances in this story, so you'll have plenty of sister time. Tyler is also introduced in this duet, so I can't wait to read his story next!

This was my favorite duet out of this series and I'd sacrifice more hours of sleep anytime for these characters. I love trying to figure out how things will pan out, even though KF usually succeeds in stumping me.

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance

Summary:

Rehearsals, leotards, and textbooks -- that was my life.

Dancing is all I've ever known, but when Liam's problems turn everything upside down, I'm thrust into a world I know nothing about. Secrets and betrayal changed the man I've fallen for and he isn't who I thought he was. Regardless, Liam is all I've ever wanted and though I'm struggling with my emotions, deep down I'd do anything for him.

Corruption and power are their game and Liam is nothing more than a pawn. Playing by the rules won't end well, but I can't let him fight alone this time.

Our happily ever after is so close I can taste it, but then it quickly crashes and burns, threatening to destroy us. Giving up on the love of my life isn't an option, but in the end I might not be able to save him.

Misadventures in Blue by Sierra Simone (Misadventures Series #22)

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

Misadventures in Blue can lock me up and throw away the key! I love a good story that has depth to the characters, while plenty of steam to get my heart racing.

The fact that Cat has loved and lost before, makes you feel her hesitance to ever pursue someone in the line of work she does. Jace, however, will melt your heart and have you shouting to Cat for her to give him a chance.

With plenty of sexy times and an underlying mystery of who's behind the burglaries, you'll find yourself hooked until the end. Such a great addition to the Misadventure Series, and definitely one that can be read as a stand alone.

πŸƒ Action
 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ”₯ Steamy Romance

Summary:
Senior Detective Cat Day has one hard and fast rule about dating: no cops. They live hard and die young - a truth she's faced every day since her fiance's tragic death several years ago. But when rookie Jace Sutton shows up to work the same burglary investigation, she feels desire she hasn't felt in years.

Jace knows what he wants the minute Detective Day strolls onto his crime scene in heels and a pencil skirt tailored by God himself. He wants to thaw the legendary Ice Queen, and it only takes one hot, dirty night for Jace to realize he wants more. Much, much more.

Truly Yours by Kennedy Fox (Roommate Duet #4)

🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻

Truly Yours will make you cry, scream and swoon! This is book 2 of Mason & Sophie's duet, so you must read them in order, but be prepared, once you start, you won't be able to stop until you've finished them both.

I genuinely blocked out the ending of Truly Mine, so I had to read the last chapter again to refresh my memory before diving in to conclusion.

Kennedy Fox is a powerhouse duo that'll make you feel all the emotions, yet you'll thank them for it later.

Mason and Sophie have dynamic chemistry, but the timing is always off for them to pursue a relationship. They've both overcome tragic pasts, but together, they must face their greatest challenge so far.

Once I started their story, I couldn't stop reading! I absolutely loved Mason and Sophie, and I can't wait for the next duet in the series.

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance

Summary:
I knew within moments of meeting Mason Holt that he would change my life forever.
I just didn't realize how much.

As my world spirals out of control, he continues to stay by side, protecting and taking care of me. Being just friends is all he's been able to offer, that is until both of our lives are threatened. Now that our relationship is blossoming into something more, I can't be what he needs even if I wished I could.
Bad timing strikes again.

When I think we can finally be together, someone threatens to tear us apart. I'm not the same girl Mason met three years ago, but I'm determined to fight for what I've always wanted - him.

Jock Road by Sara Ney (Jock Hard #3)

🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

Jock Road is a wonderful sports romance! A perfect blend of humor, wit, romance and a dash of football - Sara Ney has delivered another spectacular addition to the Jock Hard series.

Charlie Edmonds is a ballsy, take-no-crap kind of girl...so when Jackson enters her world in the rudest of ways, she's determined to keep her distance.

Jackson Jennings has one focus - football. He has no desire to date or be distracted by any females, but when he crosses Charlie, he discovers that there might be more to life than the goals his Dad's set for him.

Jackson and Charlie are hysterical in their interactions, and I found myself having to gather my wits while reading, from laughing so hard. Every time they run into each other, I fully expected one of the two to end up being arrested, lol.

The author writes with no filter and I'm always reminded how much I adore her books when I've finished a new one! Perfect for any fan of the Douchebag series.

πŸ˜„ Comedy
🏈 Sports Romance

Summary:
EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Those are Jackson Jennings, Jr's three mantras. His entire life, he's been a trained athlete with only one end-game: the Pro's. No girls. No parties. No alcohol.

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Repeat.

Every Friday night, Triple J cruises the strip on campus, bored, lonely and conditioned not to party. But the night he meets Charlotte Edmonds on the side of the road, he wonders if his three mantras will ever be enough.

BIG. DUMB. JOCK.

Charlie has no time for Jackson's antics. Not when he's stealing her food or teases her to no end, making her tingle in all the right place. But if she's ever going to have a boyfriend, she'd choose one who isn't a Neanderthal. One with manners and actual time to spend with her. Not a hulking man-child who cruises the strip at night, in his Big. Dumb. Truck.

This Is Love by Natasha Madison (This Is #3)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

This Is Love will capture your heart! I love how the male in this story takes on the typical view of a female - wanting to settle down and fall in love, finding "the one" and happily ever afters.

Vivienne has an entertaining lack of filter, but she's a feisty character that will win you over. The last thing she wants is a relationship, and she's more than determined to keep Mark at bay.

Mark however, is the man that will have every reader swooning. His relentless pursuit and persistence of Vivienne will have you turning the pages as quickly as possible.

I've absolutely loved every book in this series, and this addition was by far my favorite so far! Witty, romantic, funny and an all-around amazing story.

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’Sports Romance
πŸ”₯ Steamy

Summary:
Vivienne

Never fall in love.
That was my motto, and I was sticking to it.
Having my heart broken once was enough, and I never wanted to do it again.
He was supposed to be a one-night stand, the only thing I do. One rule shouldn't be so hard to follow, but then I went back for seconds, then thirds.

After that, I lost count of the number of times I lost myself in his arms.
When I wasn't paying attention, my guard slipped.

Mark

They call me Private Mark for a reason - my whole life is a secret.
For two years, we danced around each other until I got her right where I wanted her...under me.
Now that I had her, I wasn't letting her go. I thought we were on the same page.
I thought we were building something great.

Boy, was I ever wrong.

I had no idea that while I was falling in love, she was trying to convince herself we were temporary.
She thought I'd walk away.

She was wrong.

Now it's time to convince her she wants us too and to show her that the crazy, wild thing we have...This Is Love.

Kiss Me Not by Emma Hart (Kiss Me #1)

πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹

Kiss Me Not will leave you with sore cheeks! Such a delightfully, witty comedy that will keep you in stitches. I can't recall the last time I laughed so hard (too bad I was at work).

The banter between Halley and Preston will have you laughing out loud, no matter what your surroundings. The fact that they both clearly like each other, but deny it, keeps you waiting for who will surrender first.

What makes this story even better, are the secondary characters. They add the perfect amount of trouble and comedy that'll have you reading each page with bated breath.

I can't wait for more books in this series and if you want a hilarious read, this is definitely the book for you!

πŸ˜„ Comedy
πŸ’‹ Romance

Summary:
What do you do when you're the reigning kissing booth champion but the only person you want to kiss is your best friend's brother?

Let me make this clear right here, right now: I, Halley Dawson, do not care that Preston Wright is kissing other women.
Not a lick. Not at all. Nuh-uh-freakin'-uh.
I do care that he's doing it six feet away from me behind a gaudy velvet curtain - making him my competition in this year's kissing contest.
Why do I care, you ask? Because I've had an unfortunate crush on the insufferable idiot since I was sixteen years old, but I also know it's never going to happen.
He's the Creek Falls bachelor to die for, and I'm the Creek Falls raccoon lady who puts peanut butter sandwiches out for them every night.
I'm not going to let him break my four-year-long reign - no matter how many times he breaks the rules and slides the curtain across to do the one thing he's not allowed to:

Kiss me.

Handle With Care by Helena Hunting (Shacking Up #5)

❤❤❤❤❤

Handle With Care far exceeded my expectations! The perfect mix of family drama, romance, and an underlying mystery. This series just gets better with each book!

The best part of reading each consecutive book in a series, is being able to visit characters that you've previously fallen in love with. It's like visiting a family reunion that you never want to leave.

I couldn't put this down as the story unraveled, and my brain was constantly trying to figure out the secret behind all the deception. As secrets and events from the past unfold, you can't help but feel for both Linc and Wren, as their lives are turned upside down.

The author did an amazing job of weaving the storyline and keeping me guessing until the truth was revealed, and even then I was still stunned and captivated as to how everything would unfold. I absolutely loved this book from start to finish!

πŸ˜„ Comedy
 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance

Summary:
He wants to lose control.
Between his parents' messed up marriage and his narcissistic younger brother, Lincoln Moorehead has spent the majority of his life avoiding his family. After the death of his father, Lincoln finds himself in the middle of the drama. To top it all off, he's been named CEO of Moorehead Media, much to his brother's chagrin. But Lincoln's bad attitude softens when he meets the no-nonsense, gorgeous woman who has been given the task of transforming him from the gruff, wilderness guy to a suave businessman.

She's trying to hold it together.
Wren Sterling has been working double time to keep the indiscretions at Moorehead Media at bay, so when she's presented with a new contract, with new responsibilities and additional incentives, she agrees. Working with the reclusive oldest son of a ridiculously entitled family is worth the hassle if it means she's that much closer to pursuing her own dreams. What Wren doesn't expect is to find herself attracted to him, or for it to be mutual. And she certainly doesn't expect to fall for Lincoln. But when a shocking new Moorehead scandal comes to light, she's forced to choose between her own family and the broody, cynical CEO.

Beauty and the Bayou by Erin Nicholas (Boys of the Bayou #3)

🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊

Beauty and the Bayou is a beautiful story of triumph after tragedy! Who knew a book could make duct tape and bubble wrap seem so appealing?!?

While everyone has kept their distance to give Sawyer time to grieve in his own way, Juliet appreciates his over-protective ways. Between the special gear and extra steps, she's too hard to resist and Sawyer finds himself drawn to someone that actually heeds his warnings.

Juliet thinks everything through before acting on it, and has a backup plan for every contingency. Being at a disadvantage in life, she's used to being left behind and not taken seriously, but the way Sawyer looks at her is entirely new.

Juliet and Sawyer are two perfectly flawed individuals, that both have traumatic experiences in their past that make them extremely cautious and aware.

As they slowly let their guards down to one another, perhaps they're the best chance at letting go of the past and living what could resemble a normal life, even if it's without each other in the end.

I've highly enjoyed the entire Boys of the Bayou series so far and never think anything can top them...well, I was proven wrong once again. Erin Nicholas is amazing at drawing you into the characters lives and making you feel their pain and sorrow. Sawyer has been the story I have been most anticipating since the first book and he has a piece of my heart forever!

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance
 πŸ”₯ Steamy

Summary:
Sawyer Landry knows he's been beastly to be around for the past few months. But he can't seem to remember how to be fun-loving and friendly. Until he sees Juliet Dawson on his boat dock...and realizes that hip waders are, apparently, one of his turn-ons. But despite the beauty in the boots, the last thing he needs right now is a city girl in his way for the next two weeks.

But he's not really getting a vote. Juliet is determined that her little brother rebuild the dock he and his idiot friends smashed. She's quirky, klutzy, independent...and possibly an even bigger pessimist than Sawyer is. He's incredibly drawn to the cynical fish-out-of-water, who seems to be the one person who isn't intimidated by his growling.

The big, gruff boat captain is the first person in a long time to want to watch out for her and Juliet finds that hotter than his Grandma's jambalaya. Well, that and his sexy scar, his emotional baggage, and the sense of humor and fun that is buried deep.

But Sawyer doesn't need any more people to worry about long-term and the things that make him feel protective of Juliet aren't going to go away. So, this two-week adventure can't be anything more than a fling. With Juliet down on the bayou, there's an even bigger threat than alligators and hurricanes. There's the very good chance of someone ending up with a broken heart.
