This is the story of Michael, who grew up with everything handed to him, and a perfect life. He left home at the age of 18 wanting to rebel and discover himself, what he finds is a friend who involves him in the world of participating and dealing drugs.
Through this he meets Megan, a single Mom of two, and 12 years older than himself. Feelings grow deeper between them, each time they meet, but Megan doesn't want that kind of influence around her two sons. They both learn quickly that all actions have consequences, and when that starts affecting Megan and her family, Michael is forced to re-evaluate the choices he's making in his life.

This was a great debut novel by an upcoming author, and I found myself captivated, finishing it in one sitting. Shane is brutally honest with the writing of what drugs can do to your life, and how it affects others. This is the first time I'm glad the story didn't have a HEA, and I think it actually made for a more realistic story. Gritty and heartfelt, this book will rip you apart in the most beautiful way.
