Kissing the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox (Circle B Ranch #5)

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠

A great example of a genuine friendship! 4.5 stars - Kissing the Cowboy is the story of two best friends that are always there for each other, no matter what, but the last thing they want to do is risk the friendship they both cherish more than anything in the world.

Harper is trying to keep her growing business afloat, while staying true to her followers and customers, but when she feels pressured by her rival that loves to copy everything she does, she needs a rescue from her best friend.

Ethan Bishop has loved Harper from afar, but has never wanted to say anything and risk losing her as a friend. When the opportunity arises for him to pretend to be her fiancΓ©, he doesn't have to think twice about "acting" like he's in love with her.

This friends to lovers romance is the perfect summer read. There's plenty of steam and laughter all the way til the end and I can't wait for more in this series!

SUMMARY:

After drinking a bottle of wine, Harper tells her business rival that she recently got engaged. Once the hangover wears off, Harper realizes she now needs a fake fiancΓ© or to admit she lied. Wanting to avoid the backlash, she asks her childhood best friend for a favor.

She can pretend she's not in love with him, but her traitorous body reveals otherwise.

Ethan Bishop will do anything for Harper, even if it's crazy and means risking his heart. Pretending to be engaged to the woman he's always loved proves to be difficult -- especially when repressed feelings bubble to the surface.

He only wants to help, but everyone in his life sees through his facade.

It's hard to know what's real or fake when their private moments turn intimate. When they cross the line and fall between the sheets, the truth is undeniable.

Just as they feared, their friendship's no longer the same. However, one thing's certain -- there's no going back now.

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

I'd give The Hating Game 10 stars if it was possible! I hate myself a little bit for taking almost 3 years to discover and read it, but so glad I own the paperback, so I can revisit Josh and Lucy anytime I want.

This outrageously bitter, yet witty, office rivalry will have you laughing out loud. I highly suggest not eating or drinking while you read. (I learned the hard way, so please take my advice!)

The banter between Josh and Lucy is at an all-time high. With moments you'll want to tell your friends, because you'll honestly still laughing about it days after you've read it.

Nothing is as it seems in the story, never knowing if it's just a game/rouse, or if there might potentially be actual feelings involved.

If you read one book this year, make it this one! The dynamics with their co-workers and family, throw that extra level of entertainment into the story and I guarantee this will be one of your new favorite go-to reads!

Summary:
Nemesis (n.)
1) An opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome.
2) A person's undoing
3) Joshua Templeman

Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman hate each other. Not dislike. Not begrudgingly tolerate. Hate. And they have no problem displaying their feelings through a series of ritualistic passive aggressive maneuvers as they sit across from each other, executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company. Lucy can't understand Joshua's joyless, uptight, meticulous approach to his job. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy's overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and Pollyanna attitude.

Now up for the same promotion, their battle of wills has come to a head and Lucy refuses to back down when their latest game could cost her her dream job...But the tension between Lucy and Joshua has also reached its boiling point, and Lucy is discovering that maybe she doesn't hate Joshua. And maybe, he doesn't hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.
