The Truth About Cowboys by Lisa Renee Jones (Texas Heat #1)

πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

The Truth About Cowboys will make you swoon in your boots! Filled with delightful comedy, tender moments and secrets nobody wants uncovered.

Jessica attempts to make the best of a bad situation by renting a cottage in the country, but from the moment she arrives, her path crosses with the one person who doesn't want her there.

Jason wants to leave his glory days and fame in the past, but when a distraction arrives on his doorstep, he's anything but welcoming to her.

Grandma Martha is the highlight of the story and will keep you rolling in laughter with her meddling. She means for the best and will stop at nothing to see those she loves, happy.

Lisa Renee Jones has been an author I've enjoyed following, but I have to say that this is my favorite book of hers so far. I love the storyline, witty characters and I couldn't put it down until the last page. Loved it!

Summary:
When I was off pitching in the big leagues, my family was back in the small town of Sweetwater, Texas, running the family ranch. Then tragedy hit and I discovered there were secrets that my family kept, problems they hid. I went home, left behind the money, women, and fame. I took over the ranch and took care of my grandmother. I took over hiding the secrets. Then she came to town. A smart-mouthed, clumsy, too-smart-and-too-pretty-for-my-own-good city girl hiding out to write a book. She's right here, on my property, in the cottage my grandmother rented her without my permission, and she sees too much. She knows too much.

Now suddenly my world is spinning, and she's shoving a baseball back in my hand while baking cookies with my grandmother. She's the devil and an angel all in one fiery little package. I decide I'll wait her out. She'll go back to the city. Only suddenly I don't want her to leave, and everything I've settled for in my life isn't enough. I want to play ball and I want her, but there's that secret that won't let go, but neither will she.

Piece of My Heart by Sydney Logan

🀠🀠🀠🀠🀠

Piece of My Heart is a beautiful second chance story. I love high school sweethearts, they're some of the most genuine romances to read.

When Amber Tucker is introduced to readers, she's finally brave enough to leave her husband, after he goes to far and hits their son. Fleeing back to the hometown she once ran from, she tries to start over and create a better life for her son.

I'm from a small town, so watching everyone know Amber and her life story is no surprise to me. She has a great support system of friends and family to lean on, but her number one priority is Cade, her 10 year old son.

Noah Murphy has never stopped loving Amber, even after the betrayal that took her out of his life. He's the ultimate book boyfriend and everything I'd want in a guy.

I loved every chapter of this story, but the epilogue was the highlight for me. It gives you the perfect closure and made me cry.

Sydney Logan knows how to write a beautiful romance, with minimal angst and just the right amount of drama and romance. Well done!

**Trigger warning:
If spousal abuse is a trigger for you, be cautious, but it's very minimal, and a vital part of the story.

Summary:
They say true love never fades. I've spent the last decade, and a fortune in paint, making sure of it.

Amber Tucker never dreamed she'd return to Cedar Grove, but when she finally finds the courage to leave her abusive husband, she knows her old hometown is her only option. Desperate for a new life, Amber takes her ten-year-old son and moves in with her Aunt. She prays for a fresh start while hoping to avoid her childhood sweetheart - the man whose heart she broke nearly a decade ago.

Noah Murphy has spent the last ten years trying to forget Amber Tucker. He's had a hard time letting go - as evidenced by the big red heart on his farm's grain silo. Noah painted it when he was sixteen and crazy in love, and every spring, he gives the heart a fresh coat of paint. It's all he has left - the only reminder that Amber was real.

That is, until she returns to Cedar Grove.

When her husband comes calling, Amber knows she has to break the cycle of abuse, once and for all. But, when she takes matters into her own hands, can Noah protect her from the consequences of her actions? Or, will he lose her all over again?

Misadventures with a Country Boy by Elizabeth Hayley (Misadventures Series #17)

 πŸ€ πŸ‘ΈπŸ€ πŸ‘ΈπŸ€

One hell of a ride to go on! Join famous singer Brooke Devereaux, as she runs from her controlling parents and a deal she wants to part of signing. Enter lost and hurt, former soldier Cole Timmons to the rescue (in more ways than one), and you've got quite the explosive pairing.

I couldn't put this one down once I started - between discovering the truth behind Cole's past and what Brooke deals with on a daily basis, my heart broke for them both. A wonderful journey of self-discovery, and letting go of the past, this is easily in my top 3 favorite in the Misadventures Series!

A Mail-Order Destiny by Janelle Daniels (Miners to Millionaires - Book 10)

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

This is the story of the last of Ivan's brides and the best one in the entire series. The author throws in humor, drama and suspense - with even a twist I didn't see coming!

Willow Packer finds herself inviting a damsel in distress to live with her, even though she's a stranger, but Abigail might be just the help she needs with her thriving business.

When Abigails brother comes to town, on a mission to bring her home with him, Willow is quick to stand up for her - even if he does make her heart skip a beat.

This book kept me reading from the second I started and I sent more than a few messages to the author in the process (hopefully she forgives me, lol).

I'm sad to see this series end, but there'll be a spin-off (which the books hints to), and I love how all of the other brides are woven into this story, so you leave with a feeling of completion.

Last Chance Cowboys: The Rancher by Anna Schmidt (Where the Trail Ends Series - Book 4)

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nell Stokes is a widow, just trying to protect her young son and their property. When her half-brother tries to intervene and take over the ranch, she has to decide what's best for her family. Her choices are to sign over the farm, marry a man that's already crossed her personal boundaries, or accept the marriage proposal of the enemy.

Trey Porterfield feels an instant attraction when he first meets Nell, and after witnessing the harassment she endures, all he wants is to provide a safe environment for her and her son. Hoping to quell the disagreements between the cattlemen and herders, Nell's choice ends up causing a larger war than anyone could've imagined.

This was a wonderful story filled with adventure, danger and romance. The author does a great job of keeping you on your toes. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts, and the twists will have you captivated with each page.

Country Nights by Winter Renshaw

This story is filled with heartbreak, suspense, and laughter. After discovering her fiancΓ©e has been cheating on her, Leighton rents her childhood home to escape to. When she finds out that she was scammed, the broken cowboy who owns the home offers her a deal, room & board in exchange for working the farm.

This was a wonderful journey of two people overcoming their pasts and learning to open up their hearts again. SO much better than I was expecting, and it keeps you guessing with all of the twists and turns in the story. I originally got it through KU and immediately bought it when i finished reading, so it'd forever be in my Kindle library. I'll definitely be reading this one again in the near future!
