The Ring Reader by Keira K. Barton

πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Faye Jansen fell in love with Elias Shelton when she turned eighteen. Surprised that he becomes so quickly enamored with Faye, after refusing all attempts by his parents to set him up with the perfect match, Elias knows without a doubt that she's the woman he's going to marry.

In the future, they're happily wed with a daughter, but when it appears as though Elias is lost at sea, Faye has nowhere to turn for answers except for the local witch. When a spell is cast upon her wedding ring and the witch is captured by the townfolk, Faye is left with the aftermath of discovering what the new magic will bring.

When she's alone, Faye finds herself transported to the time where her romance began with Elias. Back in the present, when her daughter discovers what is happening, the two of them try to figure out what the powers mean for Faye.

I was hesitant with the time-traveling factor, afraid that Faye would try to change the future, or that it would be repetitive, but I was quickly proven wrong. After realizing she can only watch the past as a witness, I enjoyed learning how the couple came to be and it made my heart hurt even more for Faye in the present time.

This is a great start to the series and I can't wait to see what other couples Faye unites in future stories. Definitely give this book a chance and you'll fall in love with the characters as well!

A Mail-Order Destiny by Janelle Daniels (Miners to Millionaires - Book 10)

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

This is the story of the last of Ivan's brides and the best one in the entire series. The author throws in humor, drama and suspense - with even a twist I didn't see coming!

Willow Packer finds herself inviting a damsel in distress to live with her, even though she's a stranger, but Abigail might be just the help she needs with her thriving business.

When Abigails brother comes to town, on a mission to bring her home with him, Willow is quick to stand up for her - even if he does make her heart skip a beat.

This book kept me reading from the second I started and I sent more than a few messages to the author in the process (hopefully she forgives me, lol).

I'm sad to see this series end, but there'll be a spin-off (which the books hints to), and I love how all of the other brides are woven into this story, so you leave with a feeling of completion.

A Mail-Order Illusion by Janelle Daniels (Miners to Millionaires – Book 8)

πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Violet comes from high expectations and people who lie to her. With no real friends, she’s forced to make the best of a situation, which involves living with 8 other women. Her ice-cold exterior slowly starts to melt, but with no promises on the horizon, she contemplates returning to her controlling family.

Jimmy Thornton is well-off, and still recovering from his failed courting of Aria. When he rescues Violet, they make a secret arrangement, and in doing so, it enables them to get to know one another without any facades.

I loved watching their friendship blossom and grow. Trust the author to throw in a good twist just to keep you on your toes! Only 2 more books to go in the series, but it’ll definitely be one that I revisit often.

A Mail-Order Dawn by Janelle Daniels (Miners to Millionaires - Book 6)

Rosalie Davis is on her way to visit a fellow “bride”, when she’s caught unexpectedly in a snow storm. Tom Brewer, the town blacksmith crosses her path, and together they have to weather the storm, among other obstacles in the great outdoors. They grow closer while facing the challenges of being stranded in a broke-down trappers cabin. One trial after another, they fight their feelings, while fighting to survive. Another great addition to the stories of “Ivan’s Brides”!

A Mail-Order Heart by Janelle Daniels (Miners to Millionaires - Book 1)

Clara Stewart has every intention of marrying Ivan, her mail-order groom, but her plans fall apart when he dies before her arrival—leaving not one fiancΓ©e but nine! When the female-starved town offers them Ivan’s home and  claim, Clara steps forward and promises to do whatever necessary to see to the women’s future, regardless of her own attraction to the town’s sheriff.
Sheriff Sawyer Morrison had one goal: to protect his town. But when nine women arrive, all claiming to be mail-order brides for the same recently-deceased man, his once quiet life is thrown into chaos. Safeguarding them from aggressive suitors is nothing compared to the inner battle he faces over Clara, a woman who heats his blood… but can never be his. When Clara is kidnapped by the same person who’s sabotaging their mine, Sawyer must choose between the life he knew and the future he craves
I adored this book! The characters are well-developed, and there's someone to love, hate and cheer for in this story!  The plot twist took me by surprise, and kept me on my toes. An overall great read and I can't wait for more in this series.

A Mail-Order Dream by Janelle Daniels (Miners to Millionaires - Book 4)

This book introduces us to Aria McKinnon, who becomes a nanny for widower, Cameron Grant. She doesn't hide the fact that she wants to get married and have a family of her own. Cameron makes it clear that he'll never remarry, since his first marriage was arranged and miserable, but he feels torn when several men in town start to court Aria.
Aria has a great relationship with the two children - Thomas and Phoebe, but Cameron is stubborn and fights their attraction. Jimmy is one of her suitors, but he knows she cares for someone else, so he offers to help her. The only problem is he ends up falling for her as well.
I loved this story and the characters are very well developed. Every book in this series just gets better! Beautiful, clean romance!

A Mail-Order Hope by Janelle Daniels (Miners to Millionaires Book 3)

This is the 3rd book in the series of Mail-Order Brides left without a match. Ivan passed away before the arrival of not one, but 9 potential brides! This series gets unbelievably better with every book.

We follow the path of Belle Sweeney, left with no home or choice when her parents passed away. After one of her fellow “brides” is abducted, and later rescued, she feels the need to break one of her rescuers out of his shell.

Asher Walker is a self-made hermit, determined to not be a burden or be responsible for anyone else’s life. He lost someone close to him, and feels responsible for her death. When Belle starts coming around every week to bring him a basket of homemade goods and tries to break him out of his shell, he shuts her out.

After a close-call, she asks for Asher’s help. They later come to an agreement that if he does 3 things of her choosing, she promises to stop her visits and leave him to his solitude on the mountain. Asher finds himself trying not to fall under Belle’s spell, but she’s witty, funny and nothing like he expected.

I enjoy this series so much, while watching the pairing off of all the “brides”. They’re all different in their own way, and come from various paths in life. A delightful read, and I’m looking forward to the next one!

Sophia's Leap-Year Courtship by Kristin Holt

Chadwick Hughes is crushed when the mail-order bride he's been corresponding with not only doesn't show, but doesn't exist. Sophia Sorensen is determined that no man will ever want her, so she has begun the process of going through the same agency.

Together they form a bond, as Chadwick hires Sophia for her legal services. In the crazy rituals of Leap-Year, anything can happen. They're pushed together by their mutual friends Naomi and Joe, and gossiped about in the paper on a weekly basis. I enjoyed how strong-willed, yet lovable the main characters are.

It was a delightful trip back in time as a reader. I'm always so thankful that Kristin does her research and is so knowledgeable about this time era. I feel like I can escape and still come out having learned new things. If this book doesn't leave you with a desire to find your own match and own a bicycle built for two, nothing will.
