Hard to Score by K. Bromberg (Play Hard #3)

🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

Old friends and family secrets unfold! Hard to Score is the third book in the Play Hard series and it does NOT disappoint!

Throughout most of the story, you're kept on your toes guessing what really happened 10 years ago. It caused such a rift between two close families that they never spoke again, even when they needed each other the most.

Brexton still remembers the day Drew broke her heart and stomped the teenage crush she harbored to the ground. When their paths cross and she finds those feelings have only deepened, she tries to keep her distance...

Drew's sole focus is on his football career and his family that's been torn apart over the years. He doesn't have time for a relationship, nor the patience, but the chance to have his friendship back with Brexton is an opportunity he can't miss.

Watching this story unfold was extremely cathartic for me, especially the way Brexton slowly broke down Drew's walls and opened his heart up to love. If anything, it just makes me love Brexton's dad even more than before!

The dynamics in the Bowman family will have you wanting to reach through the pages and slap someone upside the head, but it definitely helps you understand what makes Drew tick.

My favorite in the series so far, as I've enjoyed watching each of the sisters find their other halves, I can't wait for the next book to release. A wonderful sports romance with all the feels, and a few douche-canoe players that you'll love to hate!

 πŸ’§ Drama

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

I've signed numerous players to my family's agency -- I assumed winning over my next client would be just as easy.

The last thing I expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and broke my heart: only now Drew Bowman is all grown up.

Sexy. Scandal-tainted. Second-string. The crush I never got over.

I tell myself work is the reason I can't get him out of my head. I tell him his talent far outweighs his position, and I know I can help. I lie and lie, because admitting that I want a second chance at my first love is impossible.

Some lines cannot be crossed, and ours was drawn in the sand years ago.

***

I'm supposed to hate her.

I've been told so time and time again for ten years - her father ruined our family, smeared my name before my career even began.

But that's not what I'm feeling now.

Brexton Kincade just strode out of my memories and onto my field.

Driven. Determined. Grown up. The Capulet to my Montague.

Being with her would be an unforgivable sin against my father, but I can't resist the pull between us. Even if it means hiding what we have. Even if it means confronting the secrets I've always feared were lies.

The Secret One by Ruth Cardello (Corisi Billionaires #3)

πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

This is the 3rd installment in the series, if you haven't read the first two, STOP now and go read them!

Each book in the Corisi Billionaires series has lead to what unfolds in this story. Full of unending secrets, lies and romance -- you can't help but be swept away into the drama as you watch it all unravel.

I loved the chemistry between Christof and McKenna from the start, even though they had a rocky beginning. The story line was a little choppy at times, how it goes between more than just the two main character POV's, but hang in there, it's worth the wait.

 πŸ’§ Drama

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

When Christof meets a beautiful mechanic on the side of the road, he knows they're meant to be. His family, however, needs him and his mediation skills in Italy, where decades of secrets and betrayal could cost them everything. His mother is convinced a fiancΓ©e would help smooth things over. But he'd be nuts to ask a woman he just met to participate in such a farce.

Men always find something about McKenna they want to change -- her independence, her success, the grease that clings to her after a satisfying day in the garage. So when she starts falling for a handsome billionaire, she doesn't believe it will last. Their engagement is fake, but the sparks that fly when they're together are too real to resist.

If Christof and McKenna trust themselves and each other, Italy will jump-start a love as intimate as it is intense. If not...their relationship isn't the only one on the line.

Southern Storm by Natasha Madison (Southern Series #3)

πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

You're going to need a strong seatbelt for this ride! Southern Storm is the book I've been waiting for since this series began and I was NOT disappointed.

Savannah was introduced in the first book as the home wrecker who got herself knocked up and convinced the town's golden boy to cover up her mistake.

Beau is the man who's loved her nearly all his life, but could never do anything about it since he believed his best friend was the father of her child.

When the truth comes out, it's a tangled web that runs deeper than anyone could've imagined, also revealing some disturbing truths about Beau's father.

This book was beautifully written and the story unfolded perfectly. I couldn't put it down until I knew how everything panned out and even then, I couldn't get enough.

For an author to be able to write a character that you despise SO strongly in one book, then they turn it around and open your heart to them later...that's a true achievement and a testament to their writing skills, but that's exactly what happened with Southern Storm!

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.

Savannah
I'm the one who broke up the golden couple. The woman people still whisper about, point at, and give dirty looks to.

Did I sleep with the prom king? No. Did I sleep with the town's golden boy on vacation from college? Yes.

Did I believe that he was going to marry me? Wholeheartedly.

Did he? Not even close. He got engaged right in front of me and then his father threw two hundred dollars at me and told me to take the trash out.

So, I raised my son in a town where people love him because they think that his father is the sheriff.

It was going great, everything was working out till my lie got out.

Beau
I was getting ready to take over the mayoral office from my father, who was my hero.

Until I heard the secret he hoped would stay buried forever.

My brother has a son, not just any son but a son with the woman who was my best friend.

The woman I secretly have loved from the moment she stood up to me and broke my nose in kindergarten.

I need to protect her and in order to do that, we need to get married.

Too bad her nightmare is my dream come true.

Southern Chance by Natasha Madison (Southern Series #1)

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

Southern Chance is a beautiful tale of second chances! Be prepared for all the feels with this story. I swooned, laughed, cried and wanted to throw my book along the way.

Kallie is forced to come back to the small town she ran from when her heart was broken. Surrounded by the past she'd like to forget, she's forced to come to terms with what really happened.

Jacob didn't have the chance to explain things to Kallie before she shut him out of her life, torn between hating her and wanting her to know the truth, he must face his own demons.

A tale of loss, miscommunication and second chances - this story nearly broke my own heart. Multiple lives are woven together to create a tangled web of angst and lies. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance

Summary:

Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.

Kallie
I fell in love with him when I was seven. I scraped my knee, and he helped carry me inside. Our love story was the talk of the town until a woman told everyone she was pregnant with his baby. The only rational solution was to high tail it out of town and never come back.

My best friend needed a place to hide, and you can't get much more covert than my family farm, so I came back. For her. It was supposed to be temporary, and I wasn't supposed to see him, but that's what happens when you live in a small town where everyone knows each other.

Jacob
Being the sheriff in a small town was never my dream. My father died and my older brother took off, so I had to be the one to look after my mother. I stayed. I fulfilled my duties as a son and I protected my hometown.

My life wasn't perfect, but I was content. Until I locked eyes with a ghost from my past, Kallie. I thought it was my imagination, it couldn't be. I loved her most of my life, but now I hated her.

The town gossip mill was going into overdrive. I kept my head down and my mind off of the woman who shattered my heart when she ran away. She didn't give me a chance to explain, it didn't matter to her then. I didn't matter.

A second chance is never promised, but now that mine is right under my nose, I'm not sure I can take it.

Better than Sexy by Carly Phillips (Sexy #3)

❤❤❤❤❤

Better than Sexy is a brutally beautiful tale! Fate is such a fickle creature, who else would have you falling for the same man who's twin was killed by your own brother?

Landon has never fully recovered from losing his twin, but he's doing the best he can and just when things in his life are looking up, along comes another twist in the form of temptation with a past.

Vivi wants to live her own life, out of the shadow of the horrible person her brother has become. After a video of her performing goes viral, she's thrown into a whirlwind of success, but can she truly let herself be happy if she's not honest with the people she's starting to care for?

I was nervous about the dynamics of the Clark family - were they all going to be in denial of the pure evilness of their son/brother? Were they estranged? Was he going to somehow escape and make their lives a living nightmare?

Even knowing what was most likely to come in this story (from reading the previous books), I was not emotionally prepared for how the characters would still haunt me even after finishing.

I loved the chemistry between Landon and Vivi, and the anticipation of when the truth would be discovered, let alone the fallout from it, kept me on my toes and unable to put the book down! A wonderful addition to the Sexy Series and I can't wait until the next one.

**While this can be read as a stand alone, it's more enjoyable if you read the series in order, as they refer to the outcome and events from previous characters and books.

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance

Summary:

Insta-love only happens in the movies.

Insta-lust? That she'd buy into.

Until she meets take-charge club owner Landon Bennett and falls head over heels at a glance.

When hot as sin Landon Bennet offers sexy songstress Vivienne Clark a summer residency at his popular Manhattan nightclub, it's the opportunity of a lifetime and she can't resist. Add in the man's obvious interest and seductive attention and life is perfect.

Until she puts together the pieces of his past. Fate might have brought them together, but is the intimate relationship they've been building strong enough to overcome one painful fact. She's the sister of the man who killed his twin.

Misadventures in the Cage by Sarah Robinson (Misadventures Series #28)

πŸ₯ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ₯Š

Misadventures in the Cage was a knockout! No matter how prepared you think you are for the events in this book, you're not. So hold on tight and enjoy the ride.

Josie Gray is overwhelmed by familial obligations which have her personal and professional lives intertwining, leaving her with no time for herself or privacy to have a life of her own.

Callan Walsh is the next upcoming fighter in pursuit of the belt, title and the championship. When his one-night stand turns out to be the sister of his opponent, it sets off a series of events that will forever change all of their lives.

I enjoyed this book SO much, and while there were factors that I wish I could erase (you'll get it once you've read the story), it was a great overall journey that I would gladly go on again and again.

The characters are well-written, I loved watching them grow and develop with each chapter. So many twists and turns, that will pull you in all different directions. I'm still recovering from it, and it's been a few days.

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance
πŸ’₯ Violence

Her loyalty to family keeps her tangled in faux fame, but what she feels for Callan is the realest thing she's ever known.

Sparks fly when Callan comes to Josie's rescue, leading to an all-consuming fire after a single night together. Handle With Care by Helena Hunting (Shacking Up #5)

❤❤❤❤❤

Handle With Care far exceeded my expectations! The perfect mix of family drama, romance, and an underlying mystery. This series just gets better with each book!

The best part of reading each consecutive book in a series, is being able to visit characters that you've previously fallen in love with. It's like visiting a family reunion that you never want to leave.

I couldn't put this down as the story unraveled, and my brain was constantly trying to figure out the secret behind all the deception. As secrets and events from the past unfold, you can't help but feel for both Linc and Wren, as their lives are turned upside down.

The author did an amazing job of weaving the storyline and keeping me guessing until the truth was revealed, and even then I was still stunned and captivated as to how everything would unfold. I absolutely loved this book from start to finish!

But Lincoln's bad attitude softens when he meets the no-nonsense, gorgeous woman who has been given the task of transforming him from the gruff, wilderness guy to a suave businessman.

She's trying to hold it together.
Wren Sterling has been working double time to keep the indiscretions at Moorehead Media at bay, so when she's presented with a new contract, with new responsibilities and additional incentives, she agrees. Working with the reclusive oldest son of a ridiculously entitled family is worth the hassle if it means she's that much closer to pursuing her own dreams. What Wren doesn't expect is to find herself attracted to him, or for it to be mutual. And she certainly doesn't expect to fall for Lincoln. But when a shocking new Moorehead scandal comes to light, she's forced to choose between her own family and the broody, cynical CEO.

Illusion on Ice by S.R. Grey (Boys of Winter #7)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

Noel Sandlund is the epitome of a perfect book boyfriend! I love how he just wants to take care of Maisie and make all her dreams come true, especially going to school and getting an education.

Maisie on the other hand, I wanted to throttle her for a few chapters. Her mother is an atrocious creature, but I don't support lying, so watching her lie to Noel for so long, made me ill.

Noel and Maisie come from two different worlds, but everything seems to disappear when they're together. The chemistry is undeniable and you find yourself just wanting to comfort Maisie and tell her everything will be alright, even though it won't be...

This is the first book I've read in the Boys of Winter series, but I'll definitely be reading the other ones, asap! Great conflict and story line, this book was one that I couldn't put down.
