The Rookie by Kendall Ryan (Looking to Score #3)

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠

Kendall Ryan steals my heart again! 4.5 stars - I'm always a sucker for a good sports romance, but this one mostly takes place outside of the sports world, and I loved every moment of it.

Logan Tate is spiraling out of control after the sudden loss of his father. It's causing him to act out during game play and when he's forced to take some time away and get some help, he's left having to face the one thing he's been running from...his family.

Summer is trying to establish herself as a sports therapist, so if that means pursuing Logan to his family home in order to convince him to give her a chance, she doesn't let anything stop her.

I loved watching Logan's entire family embrace Summer as one of their own. The family dynamic, especially between the siblings, will warm your heart and have you laughing through tears.

A great story of personal growth, overcoming loss, and discovering what truly makes you happy in life. I'm definitely going back and starting this series from the beginning, but don't miss out on this one!

πŸ’‹ Romance

πŸ’ Sports

SUMMARY:

He has everything a man could want. A lucrative hockey contract. Adoring fans. A family who loves him.

But he's about to throw it all away. Logan Tate's name is dominating the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Instead of goals and assists, the talented young defenseman has been racking up fights and suspensions.

I work with athletes who are struggling, but Logan's different. He's not just going to blow his season, but his entire career. And now he can't return to the ice until he deals with his issues, but the stubborn man won't let anyone get close enough to help.

Which is why I packed up and followed him to his family's property in the remote mountains of Colorado. He can't avoid me here.

The only problem?

I can't avoid him either. He's chopping wood and building fires, rescuing my car from snowy ditches, and inviting me to Sunday dinners with his loud extended family. He's a whole lot of man, but beneath all those hard edges is an unexpected tenderness.

Tempted or not, I have to stay out of his bed and get him back to the ice...no matter how difficult that might be.

Only One Touch by Natasha Madison (Only One #4)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

A switch has been flipped! Only One Touch is my favorite book written by Natasha Madison so far, I had to remind myself to breathe while reading this one.

The assistants (Lizzie and Erika) are the best scene stealers throughout the story, with their witty banter and having no qualms about being brutally honest with their bosses.

Nico and Becca have often cross paths in their line of work, but suddenly they're both very aware of one another. Fighting their chemistry is pointless, but trying to keep a relationship hidden from others is more difficult than they thought.

This story will captivate you from the beginning to the end and I guarantee you won't want it to be over. Becca's step-brothers offer humorous quips throughout and there's twists that will have you wanting to threaten the author for giving you chest pains. I literally had to stop reading for a minute to get caffeine and chocolate so I could finish the book!

 πŸ’§ Drama

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

Nico

When I inherited the Dallas Oilers from my father, I became one of the youngest owners in hockey history. Even though the team was at the bottom of the hockey standings, I had big plans to change that and bring the Cup to Dallas.

Falling in love was something I never believed would happen to me.

You'd think I was getting everything I ever wanted with the girl and the winning record, but I still have a promise to fulfill to my childhood best friend.

Becca

Never let them see you sweat has been my life motto since I decided to make a name for myself as the most-sought-after sport agent.

I know what it takes to close a deal, and only want one thing -- to be the best.

Until I felt his touch one night, and everything I though I knew was forgotten. Nico is everything I've never let myself want.

But all my cards came crashing down the minute I read the headlines.

It takes only one touch to change everything!

Decidedly with Luck by Stina Lindenblatt (By the Bay #6)

🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼

A beautifully woven fairy tale! Decidedly with Luck has one twist after another that will keep you on your toes until the last page.

Keira is hoping to move on from losing her husband, but after she's left with the consequences from her unknown one-night stand, the lies start spiraling out of control.

Logan has always harbored feelings for Keira, without her knowledge, so he can't pass up the opportunity to have one magical night with her, even if he has to keep his own identity a secret from her.

When their lives intertwine, Keira and Logan both fight their growing feelings, and avoid revealing the truth for as long as they can, which only makes the tangled webs of deception even more complicated.

I enjoyed being able to see this story from both POV's, and it was hard at times not to yell through the screen of my Kindle, but I truly enjoyed their journey. A great addition to the By the Bay series!

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

Masquerade ball rule #1: what happens at the ball doesn't always stay at the ball.

Oops.

A chance encounter with a masked stranger at a charity ball led to an incredible kiss and a night of hot sex. The kiss was my goal for that night, a baby step forward after my husband's death a year ago. The hot sex? Not so much.

You know what else hadn't been my goal?

To be knocked up by a man whose identity is a mystery to me.

So now I'm preparing for my impending motherhood and planning a fundraiser to provide books for foster kids.

The latter is where hot hockey player Logan Mathews comes in...

****

The last time I saw Kiera Ashdown was the night of the Jingle Balls masquerade ball. She'd wanted her first time with a man after her husband's death to be with a stranger.

After my NHL team trades me to San Francisco, where my daughter and ex-wife live, I'm determined to be a better father and not repeat past mistakes. My hockey career and my daughter come first.

The last thing I expect to discover is that Kiera is my seven-year-old daughter's teacher. The last thing I expect to learn is that she's pregnant with my dead best friend's child.

And the last thing I want to admit is that I was the one who made love to Kiera--several times--the night of the ball.

Because if she ever found out that I'd lied to her, I could lose her friendship. I could lose so much more.

Only One Night by Natasha Madison (Only One #3)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

Not your typical one-night stand! Only One Night has plenty of romance, drama and humor - enough that you won't be able to put it down until you have answers.

Usually cheating is a hard limit for me in books, as it triggers issues from my own past, but the author clarifies Manning's situation from the start, so it doesn't feel like genuine cheating. It didn't stop me from wanting to kick Murielle in the lady bits!!

I was reading as fast as I could turn the pages, not being patient enough to have resolution, especially since I couldn't see how things could possibly work out.

Natasha Madison knows just how to draw you in to the drama and romance of the wonderful hockey universe she creates, and you won't come out the same when you finish. Another beautiful addition to the Only One series!

 πŸ’§ Drama

πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

Manning

As captain of the Dallas Oilers, I was their leader on and off the ice. From the outside, it looked like I had the perfect life.

I didn't.

I was married to a woman who refused to give me a divorce. All she wanted was the status title, and all I wanted was to be set free.

It was supposed to be just another event, except it took a turn I didn't see coming.

Evelyn

Attending my best friend's bachelorette party isn't something I was looking forward to. But it's strange what a couple of glasses of wine will do.

It was one night, and I thought I would never see him again.

Especially not coming face-to-face with him and his wife while picking up my nephew from hockey practice.

All it takes is one kiss, one touch, one chance, and only one night.

Only One Kiss by Natasha Madison (Only One #1)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

A sports romance that will own your heart! Only One Kiss has sports, a single dad, and a hard-working woman determined to never date a client...what could possibly go wrong?

As with every sports romance from Natasha Madison, I was an emotional wreck, but loved every moment of this story. From the characters to the drama, I was sucked in from the first page. Give me a single dad any day, especially one with an adorable little girl, and I'm a goner!

The emotional baggage that Ralph needs to overcome in order to find happiness, whether with someone else or alone as a single dad, will break your heart (don't worry, it'll get put back together.)

My heart wasn't ready for the depth of this story and I can still feel phantom chest pains from the experience, but it was worth it. If this just the start of a new series, I can't wait to see what comes next!

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance

SUMMARY:

Ralph
Being traded to Dallas was a dream come true. I had everything I wanted, my game had never been better, and my wife was due to have our baby any day now.

What could go wrong? Everything.

I was now raising our baby on my own. After hockey practice and games, I didn't have time to sleep, let alone make sure my social media was up to par.

I never thought I'd get a second chance at love.

Candace

When my hotshot brother was drafter in the NHL, he didn't have time to do his social media, so I took over for him. Little did I know it would become my career.

My plate was full with over fifty NHL players, and I wasn't taking on any new clients.

Yet when he showed up on my doorstep with the cutest little girl in the whole world, I couldn't say no.

I was just helping, but it turned into more than that. He's the man I've been waiting for.

All it takes is one touch, one night, one chance, and only one kiss.

Taking His Shot by Kendall Ryan (Hot Jocks #7)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

Jordie's story was worth the wait! Taking His Shot is the final book in the Hot Jocks series, can be read as a stand alone, but it's more enjoyable if read in order.

I've been looking forward to Jordie's story throughout this series and have admired him from the sidelines, while he played supporting characters to the other guys.

The chemistry at the auction between Jordie & Harper was instantaneous, truly setting the stage and leaving me anxious to read more.

Bets placed among friends, especially the male variety, always have a tendency to come back in the worst way.

I loved this book and will definitely be revisiting their story again soon. The entire series is on you'll want to binge-read and share with friends!

SUMMARY:

She says she doesn't date players.

She swears up and down that she'll never handle my stick.

We'll see about that, sweetheart.

When I win the pleasure of Harper's company at a charity auction, I get exactly one date -- one shot to win over the gorgeous and feisty brunette.

Game on. I play hard, and I love a challenge.

But just when I think I've finally carved out my shot...a huge secret implodes around us, threatening everything we've built.

A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting (All In #2)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

A Favor for a Favor will make you laugh from start to finish. I love the fact that Bishop and Stevie both lack verbal filters, so all of their interactions are highly entertaining!

Bishop Winslow is still working on building a relationship with his teammates, after the latest changes have been made. The last thing he needs is an injury that will put even more distance between them all, and risk his future with the team.

Stevie Bowman is starting her career, and doesn't want any favoritism based on her brothers popularity in the NHL. When a golden opportunity presents itself after a series of misunderstandings, Stevie has a proposition for Bishop.

From the first page, this story is filled with witty banter, fueled by the mutual hatred that the main characters have for one another, due to a lack of communication.

Daily underwear battles are just the beginning of their antics, along with an ex-boyfriend that won't accept it's over. I loved every minute of this book, it was highly entertaining and easily my favorite one in the All In series so far!

πŸ˜„ Comedy
πŸ’ Sports Romance

Summary:

When I joined Seattle's NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain's apartment. Did I mention that he's married to a woman who definitely was not her?

Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she's the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she's not the captain's mistress. She's his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.

So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn't her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

Crossing the Line by Kendall Ryan (Hot Jocks #4)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

Crossing the Line is a friends to lovers dream! Making the best of a tough situation has never been so hot, especially when doing a favor for a friend, turns into so much more...

I loved that this had the typical characters in a role reversal, where the guy wanted more from a fling, but the girl is focused on her career and doesn't have time for anything serious.

Bailey and Asher will have you laughing til you swoon. Let alone the rest of Asher's lovable family, since they're entertaining enough just on their own! Such a great addition to the Hot Jocks series - a charming, quick and steamy read!

πŸ’ Sports Romance

Summary:

Recovering from a pulled groin muscle isn't exactly how I planned to spend my much-needed summer vacation.

But I'll admit, being nursed back to health by my gorgeous friend Bailey, who's just graduated from medical school, doesn't exactly  sound like a hardship.

We spend a week together at my family's beach house, a week of swimming and barbecues, a week of entertaining my little cousins and sleeping right across the hall from each other. A week of watching Bailey grow closer with my mom and sisters, and my wacky but lovable grandma. A week of enjoying Bailey tending to me -- which is saying something, because it involves a lot of shoving ice packs into my underwear and taping up sore muscles.

She's funny and kind, and after being myself for the first time in a long time, I find my walls come tumbling down. But when Bailey says she's not looking for a relationship, I'm bound and determined to be more than just the fun hookup who sprained his groin a second time -- this time with her.

This Is Forever by Natasha Madison (This Is #4)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

This Is Forever was a goal in my book! I've enjoyed each book in this series, but this one by far is my favorite.

Justin Stone is my new book boyfriend, and I'm not giving him up for a long time. You'd expect him to be a cocky player, but he's so down to earth and only wants to take care of Caroline and Dylan. His heart is definitely in the right place and if he was real, I'd marry him in a heartbeat!

I love strong female leads like Caroline! She's been through the ringer and still fights every day to provide the best she can for her son, no matter the emotion or physical cost for herself. Her ex can take a long walk off a short plank and I wouldn't lose any sleep at night.

Dylan will steal your heart immediately, even with his seemingly bottomless stomach, lol. He's so lovable and sees more than people give him credit for. The bond he develops with Justin, made my ovaries burst!

I loved the instant connection between Justin and Caroline, but he had to work for every moment and those are the journeys I enjoy watching most of all.

A wonderful story of overcoming the obstacles life can throw at you, while making the best of any situation, all with a smile on your face. I will definitely be reading this one again soon!

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’ Sports Romance

Summary:

Caroline
Becoming a teen mom at sixteen was not what I expected, but then again, neither was being a single parent. Still, I wouldn't change my past because that boy is my world.

Hockey is the only thing my son seems to care about, so I work two jobs to make sure he can play. I'd do anything to make sure he doesn't suffer because of the bad decisions his father made.

When he won a whole summer of hockey training, I knew in my heart he was going to have an amazing time.

What I wasn't prepared for was meeting his new summer coach.

He was magnetic, powerful and a player -- in all forms of the word.

If my life had taught me anything up to this point, it was how to avoid making bad decisions, and Justin Stone was the definition of a bad decision.

I could never be the woman his family approved of. Even if I wished I could be.

Justin
Growing up as the son of a hockey God is one thing. Growing up as the brother of a second hockey God is another. I had big skates to fill, so it was a good thing I loved every second of it.

Summer was my off time, my time to let loose, but when they ask me to coach a hockey camp for underprivileged kids, I couldn't say no.

But when she walked in holding a little boy's hand, my heart stopped beating. Or maybe it started for the first time.

They were a package deal, and I knew this -- wanted it more than I've ever wanted anything. It didn't take long to realize that no matter what happened, I would do anything to protect them.

She is the only one I want to be with.

When push comes to shove, I have to prove to everyone that this is my choice, and This Is Forever.

A Lie for a Lie by Helena Hunting (All In #1)

❤❤❤❤❤

A Lie for a Lie is the perfect second chance romance! I've been getting a little burned out with romances lately, but give me a feisty and stubborn female lead, and I'm all in (no pun intended.)

When Lainey and RJ are reunited, I knew I wouldn't be able to put this book down until I finished. This can definitely be read as a stand alone, but it makes me want to read the entire Pucked series, just so I can appreciate some of the characters storylines more.

This was such a wonderful book from Helena Hunting, who is one of my one-click authors for a reason, and I can't wait for A Favor is a Favor!

 πŸ’§ Drama
πŸ’‹ Romance

Summary:
Sometimes I need an escape from the demands, the puck bunnies, and the notoriety that comes with being an NHL team captain. I just want to be the normal guy for a few weeks. So when I leave Chicago for some peace and quiet, the last thing I expect is for a gorgeous woman to literally fall into my lap on a flight to Alaska. Even better, she has absolutely no idea who I am.

Lainey is the perfect escape from my life. My plan for seclusion becomes a monthlong sex fest punctuated with domestic bliss. But it ends just as abruptly as it began. When I'm called away on a family emergency, I realize too late that I have no way to contact Lainey.

A year later, a chance encounter throws Lainey and me together again. But I still have a lie hanging over my head, and Lainey's keeping secrets of her own. With more than lust at stake, the truth may be our game changer.

This Is Wild by Natasha Madison (This Is #2)

πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

This Is Wild scored a winning goal in my heart! A beautiful story about overcoming your past mistakes, even though you still have to overcome the temptation every minute of every day.

Viktor Petrov is quite possibly the ultimate book boyfriend, and will steal your heart with his triumphs and trials. Being able to see how far he's come, and still facing the continued aftermath from certain friends and family members is hard to watch.

Zoe Grant loves to irk her protective brothers, often providing laughter and mischief. Her resolution to never date a hockey player proves difficult once Viktor enters her life. The kind gestures and gifts she bestows him, come at the perfect times.

The chemistry between Zoe and Viktor is undeniable, but both of them keep their distance and fight being more than friends, for their own very different reasons.

At one point during this story, I literally had to put the book down to catch my breath and stop crying. I love that it shows the brutal honesty of addiction, even after the detox and rehab has ended.

I've truly enjoyed every story in the This Is series so far, but this one will definitely be one I recommend to others and revisit again in the near future. Beautifully written!

Summary:
Zoe
When you grow up surrounded by hockey players you know one thing for sure, I was never going to settle down with one.

Heck, I didn't even know what icing was. I was too busy climbing the corporate ladder, becoming one of the most successful realtors in New York City.

I wasn't interested in dating or anything that got in my way.

First, he was my client and then he became my friend.

Viktor
My parents told me I skated before I walked. When I was eighteen I was drafted into the NHL third overall, playing in Los Angeles - the city of dreams. What more could I ask for? I played hard, but eventually, I partied even harder.

Five years later I was traded a week after I entered rehab.

There was no time for anything except my health and making sure I'd come out on top. I had to be better. There wasn't another option.

One of the rules of recovery was 'don't fall in love' and I made it a top priority. She was off limits in every single way.

Until it was too late.

One night, one decision, one act can derail everything.

When push comes to shove, I'm only certain that, This is Wild.

Illusion on Ice by S.R. Grey (Boys of Winter #7)

πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

Noel Sandlund is the epitome of a perfect book boyfriend! I love how he just wants to take care of Maisie and make all her dreams come true, especially going to school and getting an education.

Maisie on the other hand, I wanted to throttle her for a few chapters. Her mother is an atrocious creature, but I don't support lying, so watching her lie to Noel for so long, made me ill.

Noel and Maisie come from two different worlds, but everything seems to disappear when they're together. The chemistry is undeniable and you find yourself just wanting to comfort Maisie and tell her everything will be alright, even though it won't be...

This is the first book I've read in the Boys of Winter series, but I'll definitely be reading the other ones, asap! Great conflict and story line, this book was one that I couldn't put down.

Misadventures with a Rookie by Toni Aleo (Misadventures Series #11)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bo vows never to fall under for the charms and flirtations of a rookie, making the same mistake that destroyed her chance at a scholarship.

Gus is determined to discover the reason behind Bo's outright hatred, using every chance he can to charm her and break down the wall she's built.

This story is the perfect blend of romance, drama, humor and hockey. Both characters families are very dynamic and there's more to the story than a light fluffy tale. I couldn't put it down and it made me want to watch Mighty Ducks as an adult!
