The Perfect Catch by Meghan Quinn

⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

Five seconds has never been so hot! The Perfect Catch has brought me my new book boyfriend. I'm so enamored with broody, grumpy Walker and will fight anyone for the chance at five blissful seconds with him.

A forbidden work romance between two people who need each other more than they know. Not only from a career standpoint, but they have both lost a sibling.

Walker is a dirty talking, grumpy and sexy catcher that has lost his love for the game. He's come to terms with everyone hating him, but is forced to turn things around.

Kate is exactly what Walker needs: strong, sassy and won't take any of his crap. As she slowly chips away at his outer wall, she can see he's really just a teddy bear that has been forced to put a guard up around his heart.

This has all the steam, humor and character love that we've come to know and expect from Meghan Quinn, but this is probably the first time I didn't get my heart ripped out by the author, so that was a happy surprise!

I immediately purchased the book and it's my favorite one in the series so far, which if you know the rest of the guys, that's a tough decision to make! Definitely a home run in my book and I can't wait to listen to the audiobook soon as well.

⚾ Sports Romance

SUMMARY:

"Kiss me. Just this once...please Walker."

Those whispered words were my undoing...

As the most hated player in baseball, I had two options: either clean up my image or pack my bags. Being traded wasn't an option which only meant one thing, I had to become compliant.

That's how I found myself sharing a small bistro table with Kate Chapman, the Chicago Bobbies newest PR Manager. Devastatingly beautiful, vastly intelligent, and incredibly cunning, she knows exactly how to handle my grumpy demeanor.

It was supposed to be simple. Book some PR events, show up, smile for the camera, and be done. But one massive mistake on my end sends me into the trenches with Kate, forcing me to open up to her.

Innocent glances turn into cordial encounters. Secret touches turn into tempting invitations. And dangerous nights alone turn into consuming desperation.

I've never wanted a woman as much as I want her. And I know she wants me, but there's a no fraternizing with the players rule. Neither of us can afford to lose our jobs, but we also can't seem to keep our hands off each other either.

The Strike Out by Meghan Quinn

💜💜💜💜💜

I hate to love Holt! The Strike Out is the perfect blend of romantic comedy, not to mention witty humor that'll have your cheeks sore for days.

Holt is one of the douchiest (if that's a word) characters I've read. Don't worry, he always ends up redeeming himself somehow, although there are moments I just want to hit him with his own bat.

I appreciate when a story has minimal drama, so the focus is more on the relationship development. Harmony and Holt own my heart completely!

With clever dates that will make you swoon, witty banter, and off-the-charts chemistry, this book is another must-read from the amazing Meghan Quinn!

⚾ Sports Romance

SUMMARY:

It started with one night out with the boys.

She was the hot diner waitress putting herself through school. I was the rich, arrogant player everyone misjudges.

On paper we didn't match.

Yet all it took was one day. One single day to change her mind.

She wasn't planning to spend her day off with me.

She wasn't supposed to fall for my charm.

But one day, one smile, turned into several nights of her calling out my name.

I'm not the guy she should end up with. I'm jealous, possessive. Not here for a long time - just a good time.

She's changed me.

But, for some reason, I feel her slipping through my fingers and no matter what I do, I fear I'm going to strike out with the one and only girl I've ever fallen for.

The Setup by Meghan Quinn

⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

Make sure you have a drink handy for this one! The Setup is a great story about two people constantly being setup by their mothers. They turn a coincidence into not only a FWB situation, but one of the best friendships that will keep you constantly entertained!

Lincoln Castle is the book boyfriend of my dreams. His main goal is to be picked up by a team after his college baseball career ends, little did he know that his priorities would change.

Indie Mayhem had her life turned upside down, making her not want a relationship of any sort, but the friendship she has with Lincoln is the stability she needs in her life. Soccer has been the one constant thing that has gone right and she'll do everything to keep her goal of achieving the future she's dreamed of.

I'm going to be real honest here...long time lapses towards the end of a book, especially when certain ones break your heart, are NOT my favorite. I had my Kindle read this book outloud while I was at work and I yelled at least 3 different times, scaring my co-workers. I had to pause the story and walk away a few times. If you've read The Dugout then you have an idea of how this book will wreck you.

I love all of the characters in this series and enjoy seeing them again, even though they've all mostly received their own happy endings by now. The last 10% of the story is a bit rough to get through, but I promise it's worth the wait!

SUMMARY:

I've fallen victim to a heinous act.

An act so vile, so downright dirty, that I'm not sure as a twenty-year-old man I'll ever recover. Brace yourself, because what I'm about to tell you might have you gasping in secondhand horror. Ready? Here it goes...

I've recently become the pawn of a meddling mom.

Yes...A MEDDLING MOM--who's been trying to set me up all summer.

Now, I understand it's not a crime for a mother to want her child to fall in love, but when she makes it her relentless MISSION, the heinous act should be classified as a misdemeanor at least.

Of course, my mom, the evil matriarch in the devil's leggings, made her final stab at finding a girl for me days before I went back to college.

And I hate to admit it, but she saved a doozy for last.

A titan in black skinny jeans.

A boss of nonchalance.

And a girl who would not only turn my life upside down, but do it while juggling a soccer ball, looking effortlessly gorgeous around campus, and is one hundred percent against relationships. Of any sort.

Thanks, Mom.

That Swoony Feeling by Meghan Quinn (Getting Lucky #4)

🍵🍵🍵🍵🍵

Brig's story was everything I've been waiting for! That Swoony Feeling will definitely make you swoon, especially if you've been following along with this series, you most likely fell for Brig in That Second Chance, when the curse started.

Ruth is SO delightfully funny, witty, awkward - you'll wish she was real so you could convince her to be your new BFF. Her high school crush on Brig has only gotten stronger, and thanks to a little (push) help from her friends, she decides to show her true self and form a friendship with him.

Brig just wants to find his soul mate and create the family he's always wanted. I loved the fact that he was not at all gunshy about signing up for the pen pal program, and his generous heart is only one of the many reasons I adore him.

The entire Getting Lucky series has been such a joy to read. With plenty of second chances, redemption, and self-discovery - this is definitely one I'll come back to read over and over again. Don't miss out on this wonderful story, I'm still smiling days later whenever I think about Brig and Ruthie!

SUMMARY:

I'm single...so single it's painful.

Yup, ladies, Brig Knightly -- that's me -- is still a lonely bachelor, stumbling through the streets of Port Snow, looking for the girl he's supposed to end up with.

That is until my brother, Rogan, presents me with the opportunity of a lifetime. The Summer of Love, a secret pen pal program in Port Snow is looking for applicants and I'm the perfect fit.

I couldn't sign up fast enough.

I found myself quickly falling in love with a pair of red lips at the bottom of a letter. Just like in the movies...

Life could not have been better, that was until I started hanging out with Ruth Barber. Starting a new business right next to my shop, I found myself gravitating toward her. Her smile, her humor...her tea sandwiches.

My attraction for Ruth came in full force, leaving me dazed, confused, and *ahem* excited.

As new feelings for two women come to a screeching halt, I have to figure out who to choose. But when I discover my pen pal is Ruth, it might be too late.

All I want in life is to experience that swoony feeling...but I think I might have just missed my chance.

The Change Up by Meghan Quinn

⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

Best friends to lovers perfection! The Change Up is amazing from start to finish. Nobody knows you better than your best friend, until it comes to matters of the heart...

I love watching men become super protective of their female friends, especially once they realize that they might have feelings for them, beware the alpha male.

Maddox is everything you expect from a baseball player, but the side of him that comes out when he's around Kinsley will make you fall for him instantly. We're talking book boyfriend, soft-hearted material here.

Kinsley is clueless as to the hotness that is her best friend, until she starts to develop feelings that she's afraid to pursue. She's all heart!

A feel-good, friends to lovers romance that will leave you with a smile on your face. Meghan Quinn is an author I can one-click and always be guaranteed laughter and romance.

SUMMARY:

BREAKING NEWS: The Bad Boy of Baseball, Maddox Paige, is totally and utterly whipped.

Okay, that might not be the headlines in the newspaper this morning, but it's the reality of my current situation.

It all started a month ago when I received a call from my best friend, Kinsley. She got a new job in Chicago and needed a place to stay. I've known the girl since I was five, what harm would it be to have her stay at my place for a while?

Ha! Total disaster.

Now instead of going out every night with my teammates, I'm couch surfing and sketching endless photos of my best friend...but that's the least of my concerns.

The disaster, you ask? I'm rapidly falling head over cleats in love with my best friend, my roommate, and my number one fan.

And she has no idea...

The Modern Gentleman by Meghan Quinn

The perfect romantic comedy to make your day! The Modern Gentleman is perfect for fans of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days - in fact, I love it even more than the movie.

Wes is so lovable, you can't help to fall for him! June has no filter and no shame in calling people on their bull, so she was an automatic favorite for me.

The chemistry between Wes and June was off the charts crazy, and it was definitely a journey I'd gladly take all over again! This is a must read if you love a good RomCom, and I guarantee you won't be able to put it down until the end.

Meghan Quinn is an author that I have to plan my surroundings around where I read her books, because I will laugh so loudly (or snort) that I scare most people.

Her characters are always so genuine and unfiltered, that it's always a guarantee that I'll be buying the paperback before I even finish reading the Kindle version.

😄 Comedy
💋 Romance

SUMMARY:

Have you ever hit rock bottom?

I embarrassingly have.

It's why I'm wearing my girl's decorative scarf over my head, clutching her lady drink to my chest, and singing ever so softly to Joni Mitchell while swaying back and forth.

This is what therapists refer to as LOSING IT.

Oldest story in the book: boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, boy screws up MASSIVELY, girl tells boy to suffocate in the fruits of his very own unborn children.

Heard it before? I'm sure you have.

So what's so different about this story? Well, it's about me, The Modern Gentleman, New York City's top advice columnist, and my rather ungraceful downfall from my pristinely polished pedestal.

It's about a girl I met who threw all my proven theories to the wind and left me awkward, needy, and absolutely head-over-wingtipped shoes in love.

This is a story about June Lacy and how she single-handedly dismantled The Modern Gentleman.

The Trade by Meghan Quinn

⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

The Trade is a home-run in my book! If you're looking for a good slow burn sports romance, this is the one for you. The characters are witty, funny and will have you reading until you forget there's a real world that probably needs your attention, lol.

I enjoy watching unrequited crushes finally realizing that they can pursue the one that's captivated their attention, especially when family and friends interfere with the best of intentions.

I've been counting down to finally getting Cory's story ever since The Dugout, this book was everything I was hoping for and more. A great friends to lovers romance that will have you wanting to binge-read the entire series all over again.

Meghan Quinn is the queen of sports romance and knows how to perfectly weave a story that will draw you in, falling for characters and rooting for their happy endings!

⚾ Sports Romance

Summary:

Can you pinpoint a time in your life where you realized you are completely and utterly screwed?

I can. I got the dreaded phone call, the one every baseball player hopes and prays never comes.

I was traded. Yeah, that phone call.

Traded from my long time team of over ten years. And not just to any team, but my childhood rivals; the Chicago Rebels.

Completely and utterly screwed, right? Wrong. The trade was the least of my concerns.

I met a girl. Natalie. Man, she's perfect.

I swore I would never get involved with anyone during the season. Too complicated. But can you believe I have zero restraint when it comes to this girl? I couldn't get her out of my head and the more I talked to her, the more I realized I needed her in my life.

So what's the problem? Why am I screwed? Because, Natalie, the girl I can't stop crushing on, yeah...she's married.

At least, that's what I was told...

Boss Man Bridegroom by Meghan Quinn

💛💛💛💛💛

Boss Man Bridegroom will give you all the feels! I'll definitely never look at my planner the same way after reading this story, and I feel justified in my love for office supplies!!!

While this book does have a small amount of drama, you can expect all the laughs as well. The bromance between Bram and Rath is too funny, along with Bram's assistant, Linus - you're cheeks will undoubtedly hurt by the end.

Charlee Cox (bag of dicks, lol - quite possibly the best nickname I've read in any book so far!) will win you over with her quirky personality and her love for all things planner or office supply-related.

The real scene stealer is Charlee's grandma, she's quite the character, and I highly enjoyed her antics.

Boss Man Bridegroom is a book I'll be reading again in the near future. It has all the things I love: a great romantic comedy, fake relationship, and an office romance. Don't miss out on this must read by Meghan Quinn!

😂 Comedy
 💧 Drama

Summary:

"Will you do me the greatest honor of all time and be my bridegroom" she asks, hope in her eyes...

How did I get here? My assistant, bent on one knee, holding my hand, her expectant face waiting for an answer.

Just...how?

How did I go from being insulted by Charlee Cox to hiring her to be my assistant? How is it that she's chaos in color - making me crazy and my life better at the same time?

I never thought I would be staring down at her bright blue eyes begging me to go along with this ridiculous scheme I suggested.

Yes, I suggested. Like the idiot I am, I thought hey, why not start an HR nightmare and have my assistant ask me to marry her?

Confused? Don't worry, so am I.

But try to follow along, because this is how I became Boss Man Bridegroom.

The Lineup by Meghan Quinn (Brentwood Baseball #3)

⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

The Lineup is entertaining from start to finish! Filled with miscommunications, secrets and crushes - this story is one you don't want to miss.

Dottie is a workaholic, who only wants to make her Dad proud, especially after the last relationship she had ended in disaster, both personally and almost professionally.

She's harbored a secret crush on Jason Orson since they were in college together, and her friends jump on the opportunity of a charity auction to win a date with him.

When an outrageous amount of money is bid to Jason's charity, he's determined to find out who would pay that much, and why they'd cancel the date they rightfully won.

Determined to keep her distance and her heart safe, Dottie puts up a cold front and does everything to stay away from him...too bad it only spurs Jason to find out what he did to offend her.

The dynamics between Dottie and Jason are like fire and ice, leaving you wanting more with every page. Jason is such a tender-hearted character, alpha behind doors, and unfiltered with his friends.

With an enemies-to-lovers vibe, The Lineup will have you swooning, smiling, with a bit of a heart attack thrown in as well. This is in my top three favorite books from Meghan Quinn and I can't wait to read it again!

😂 Comedy
⚾ Sports Romance

Summary:

Want to know a secret?

It's about that girl over there. Don't look, but she's the one in the power suit -- with the long, black hair and the serious expression, the one I'm about to go on a date with...

Yeah, according to her, she "accidentally" donated an obscene amount of money to my charity -- The Lineup -- to win said date, but I found out the truth. Miss Button Up Blouse has a secret, passionate crush on me.

I didn't know her name until two days ago, despite the friends we have in common.

Was I oblivious? Probably.
Was I blind to it? Definitely.

But I'm no fool, I see it now. The High Heel Harlot wants more than just a date with Jason Orson, she wants to be able to claim the best butt in baseball as hers.

Here's another secret...she has no idea I know.

The Dugout by Meghan Quinn (Brentwood Baseball #2)

⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

The Dugout is another home run for Meghan Quinn! This clever and funny story will have you rooting for the underdog...and the baseball player too, lol.

Milly Potter may be a girl, but she knows all there is about baseball, including how to improve your game. Too bad she has the worst luck with guys, especially one in particular.

Carson Stone is trying to come back after an injury inflicted by a teammate. When his path keeps crossing with a certain female, he's thrown by her offer to help him get his mojo back.

At his breaking point, Carson has nothing to lose by accepting Milly's help - so when he actually blows him away with her knowledge and advice, a genuine bond is formed.

Meghan Quinn is in my top 3 favorite sports romance authors, and her books are instant one-clicks for me. The Dugout is a delightful story about two people trying to achieve their dreams, despite obstacles and prejudices thrown their way. I enjoy a good slow burn and this definitely lives up to all the hype!

😂 Comedy
💋 Romance

Summary:
Let me ask you a question:

If someone is vying for your spot on a team and just so happens to injure you during practice, would you believe it was on purpose?

Word around campus is...it was no accident.

That injury has cost me everything; my starting position, my junior year - and the draft. Now, I'm a senior fresh off recovery, struggling to find my groove, until the day I run into a nervous, fidgety, girl with freckles, in the dining hall.

They call Milly Potter The Baseball Whisperer, and The Epitome of All Knowledge. She believes in baseball. She breathes it. She's the queen of an infamous dynasty, but no one actually knows who she really is, and she plans to keep it that way.

One mishap in the panini line, one miscommunication in the weight room, and many failed attempts at an apology equal up to one solid truth -- Milly Potter never wants to speak to me again -- no matter how good my forearms look.

Little do we both know, she's about to become more than just my fairy ballmother.

The Locker Room by Meghan Quinn (Brentwood Baseball #1)

⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

Meghan Quinn will make you laugh until you cry, then rip your heart out and do a tap dance on it...yet, you'll keep coming back for more, cuz when she makes everything better, it's the best thing you'll ever read!

The Locker Room was so much more than I was expecting, in the best way! I thought it'd be a light-hearted story, but the intensity between Knox and Em will have you reeling and wishing more men were like him.

Knox Gentry is the ultimate book boyfriend! I love how unfiltered and honest he is with Em. There were times I wanted to throw the book (if you've read it, you know what I'm referring to), but their journey is worth all the tears and laughter.

Summary:
Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?

If you haven't, let me enlighten you: Legen has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife.

Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.

But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.

So when the girl I've fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it's time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.

The only question is, will she accept?

That Second Chance by Meghan Quinn (Getting Lucky #1)

💙💙💙💙💙

You can't read this book and NOT fall in love with the entire Knightly family, as well as Port Snow. I'd give it 6 stars if I could! I love how everyone has an established role in the community and just seem to constantly pop up out of nowhere. This was definitely one I found myself laughing out loud at work while listening to the story.

My heart broke for the tragedy that Griffin suffers, but his struggle to keep his heart safe was understandable. He does everything for everyone else, but doesn't want to risk the curse being true, causing another death.

Griffins family just wants to see him happy again, curse be damned. The brothers are hysterical and such lovable characters, you want to take them out of the book and welcome them into your own family!

Ren Winters is a breath of fresh air! I love the witty banter between her and the brothers. Their chemistry is definitely one for the books, and you'll find yourself rooting for Griffin to let go of his fears, because Ren is perfect for him!

I adore Meghan Quinn and she has the incredible ability to make me ugly-snort while reading, unfortunately it's usually in a public place, lol. This is the first in a new series and I can hardly wait for more!!!
