Make sure you have a drink handy for this one! The Setup is a great story about two people constantly being setup by their mothers. They turn a coincidence into not only a FWB situation, but one of the best friendships that will keep you constantly entertained!
Lincoln Castle is the book boyfriend of my dreams. His main goal is to be picked up by a team after his college baseball career ends, little did he know that his priorities would change.
Indie Mayhem had her life turned upside down, making her not want a relationship of any sort, but the friendship she has with Lincoln is the stability she needs in her life. Soccer has been the one constant thing that has gone right and she'll do everything to keep her goal of achieving the future she's dreamed of.
I'm going to be real honest here...long time lapses towards the end of a book, especially when certain ones break your heart, are NOT my favorite. I had my Kindle read this book outloud while I was at work and I yelled at least 3 different times, scaring my co-workers. I had to pause the story and walk away a few times. If you've read The Dugout then you have an idea of how this book will wreck you.
I love all of the characters in this series and enjoy seeing them again, even though they've all mostly received their own happy endings by now. The last 10% of the story is a bit rough to get through, but I promise it's worth the wait!

I absolutely loved Allie and Roans story! From beginning to end, with some tears in between, I couldn't put this book down. Listening to the story around others is probably not the best decision if you tend to randomly laugh really loud like I do.
Great chemistry and plot, executed in a hilarious fashion. All members of the Harris family come out to play in this spin-off and I'm definitely bumping up the original series on my TBR so I can see how the couples previously came to be!
The strength of family has a strong role in this story and makes you fall in love with the characters even more, wishing they were actually related to you. Surprisingly the Harris that captured my heart was Vaughn. If we could all have someone like him in our corner, the world would be a better place.

You can definitely read Payback on it's own, like I did, but I imagine it'd be more enjoyable if you were already familiar with the many faces that come into play throughout this story.
The author definitely researched the sport and the South African culture to make for an accurate story-telling experience. This book is a must-read and one I'll be adding to my book shelf asap!

Rachel Van Dyken does a marvelous job of making you fall in love with the characters, then in the next second, wanting to wring their necks while they redeem themselves in your heart.
The story starts off with Mackenzie Dupont being left at the altar. She's saved herself for her husband, who's been her best friend since birth, but there's no real sparks or love. When she goes on her honeymoon six months later, she has a brush with death and decides to finally start living her life - including a one-night stand with a handsome stranger.
Slade Rodriguez can't resist Mackenzie and wants more than one night with her, but when his life is turned on it's axis, he blames the easiest scapegoat, Mack.
Through a series of events, Mack ends up being Slade's assistant, and watching him be a tyrant to her is heart-wrenching, but not dragged out (which I appreciated).
Groveling and witty banter are at the core of this story, while it's spun with back stories and twists you won't see coming. I'm enamored with the characters and can't wait for the next book in the Red Card series!
I started Risky Play at bedtime, thinking I'd read a chapter or two...instead, I stayed up until almost 3am to finish it in one sitting! Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2019 so far!
