Southern Heart by Natasha Madison (Southern #5)

❤❤👀❤❤

This romantic suspense will leave you breathless! Southern Heart will have you sitting on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Chelsea returns home after getting her nursing degree, but her world is turned on it's axis when the man she's secretly had a crush on shows up bloodied and literally on deaths door.

Mayson is a genuinely good man and just wants to live his life away from his abusive father and a past he can't seem to escape. He changed his name, and found a family he can depend on in the military, but when his past catches up with him, nobody is safe...

I was not emotionally prepared for this book, but loved every moment of it. Knowing that imminent danger lurks just around the corner kept me captivated and unable to put the book down until I finished...only to be left counting down the days until Southern Heat releases!!!

 ðŸ’§ Drama

💋 Romance

SUMMARY:

Some secrets have a way of coming back and haunting us, no matter how much we try to bury them.

Chelsea
Coming back home was supposed to be normal. Not that my life had ever been normal, but it was getting there. Then I opened the door and found a man -- broken, bloodied, and fighting for his life. I don't know why, but I said I would take care of him. I had to. Needed to. He was a mystery, showing up from out of nowhere. But he might have already stolen my heart.

Mayson Carey
The only thing I have ever wanted in my entire life was to forget who I was. Joining the military helped me do this. Keep your head down and glide through life was my new motto. No strings, no relationships. Nothing. Everything was working until a knock at the door had me face-to-face with the reason I was running. So I ran -- I fell into her arms, and she fell into my heart, but I know better than to think it'll last. Some secrets have a way of coming back and haunting us, no matter how much we try to bury them.

Hard to Lose by K. Bromberg (Play Hard #4)

💜💜💜💜💜

I wasn't able to put this book down! Hard to Lose is by far my favorite in the Play Hard series and this one was a home run in my book.

Chase Kincade is drowning in her work and the perfect excuse for an escape comes in the form of an old letter that she can't get out of her head.

Determined to track down Ryan Camden and find out what happened to him, she's not completely honest with the bar owner she starts to grow close to...

Gunner will have your heart from the first time you meet him, especially the more you learn about his past. The entire time I was waiting for the truth to come out, but the longer it took, the more worried I got that things were passed being reconciled.

Every moment of this journey was worth the heartache and tears shed. Watching Chase and Gunner each grow in their own way, while fighting for what truly makes them happy, is what every reader only dreams about. Definitely a book you don't want to miss out on!

 ðŸ’§ Drama

💋 Romance

SUMMARY:

I know finding and signing a military vet to the agency is a long shot -- but it'll be good press just letting him try out. That's what I tell my family, rather than admit I can't get the letter he wrote us five years ago out of my head.

But what I tell the bartender in his hometown is a lie. I know veterans protect each other. So I pretend to be a graduate student.

Sparks. Flame. Fire. I accidentally got in too deep.

I didn't expect to develop feelings for Gunner Camden.

And there's no way I can admit to my lies now, not without destroying what we share. So I'll keep faking it.

***

There are two versions of me: before and after deployment.

Back then I was a screwup kid. I'd lie, cheat, and steal my way out of everything. My only love was baseball.

After I started fighting, I found out there had been another path for me. One that involved my dream. But by then I had seen too much.

The old me was dead, so I put my dreams to rest, too.

Then Chase Kincade walks into my bar and reminds me that life is meant to live. No regrets.

Fresh. Happy. Hopeful. I can start to see a new dream, with her.

But sometimes things are too good to be true...and dishonesty is the one thing I can't forgive.

Boots on the Ground by April Canavan (Birch Police Department #2)

💙💙💙💙💙

April continues to wreck my heart! Boots on the Ground is a beautifully broken second chance romance that will wrap itself around your heart and squeeze until you ask for more.

I knew Linc was going to have a past that would rip me apart, but Kennedy...I've never wanted to reach through the pages and hug a character more than I did with her.

The Birch Police Department series has knocked the wind out of me with each story. I'm seriously contemplating investing in Kleenex stock now, but I wouldn't change a single second of the ride and can't wait for the next one to release.

 ðŸ’§ Drama

💋 Romance

SUMMARY:

Kennedy

I stayed away.
Even though it crushed me.
Because that's what he wanted.
I distanced myself from the man I love.
I moved on, or so I told the world.
Went through the motions, and smiled when I wanted to cry.
Then chaos flashes into my life, destroying everything in its path.
It's time to face facts.
Lincoln Hayes is the only one I trust.
The only one who keeps the nightmares at bay.

Linc

I love her.
Thoughts of her came with every bullet that flew past my head overseas.
Every night, I dream about her and what we could have had.
She's the only reason I came home.
The reason I stay, even though the very sight of her is torture.
After my brother died in my arms, everything changed.
I'm damaged. Broken.
She deserves so much more than I could ever be.
I'll forever want the life I can never have.
That doesn't mean that I won't watch her six.
Boots on the ground, active and ready.
I'll take out any threat she faces.
No matter the cost...because I'm not strong enough to lose her again.

🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Renner is one constant roller coaster ride that you don't want to end, all while covering your eyes and peeking through your fingers!

Irish Winters knows how to perfectly craft and weave a tale, leaving you breathless and wondering where the next plot twist will take The TEAM.

This is definitely one of those stories that make you never want to anger the author, with how much knowledge they have to properly dispose and maim your body, lol.

Yet another amazing addition to In the Company of Snipers series. Bringing back plenty of your favorite characters, and introducing you to new ones that you'll invite in your heart as well. Be prepared to laugh, wince and cry on this journey.

Beau by Irish Winters (In the Company of Snipers #18)

🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Beau was a thrilling ride, with one twist after another. Just when you think you've figured out who's behind it all, or what's going to happen next, you're thrown for a loop that will keep you guessing until the next twist.

Definitely have tissues and ice cream ready for this one. Also make sure you have plenty of time set aside to read, cuz I assure you, you won't want to put this one down once you start!

With each book in the Snipers series, Irish is able to make you feel as if you're part of the TEAM and the members are truly your family. Beau is definitely my favorite so far (don't tell Alex).

Ace by Irish Winters (The Deuces Wild #4)

🂱 🂱 🂱 🂱 🂱

The Deuces Wild series is like an onion, with multiple layers that just keep drawing you in. Can be read as a stand alone, but more enjoyable if you've read the series, since previous characters come in to play.

Keller Boniface despises his place on the team, but there's nothing he won't do to save a brothers life. This is how he crosses the path of Savannah Church, right after she loses the only person in her life that matters...the very person Keller needed to get answers from.

Dark forces are at play, but Savannah and Keller need to work together in order to help Keller reach his full potential and save a life.

Ace is an exhilarating ride, with plot twists that literally leap off the page and hold you hostage until you finish. Savannah is a woman after my own heart, and she's living my dream of rescuing animals. From start to finish, this book is one of my favorites this year!

Irish Winters makes me fall in love with this series after each new book, even more than I thought possible, and strengthens my belief in the unknown. An outstanding addition to the series!

Summary:
Keller Boniface...
Always by the book, Keller's mission is to locate an elderly psychic in Louisiana and be quick about it. A teammate is dying; there's no time to waste. But the land of voodoo, gris gris, and etouffe is the last place Keller wants to be. He left a nightmare here once, and hasn't been back since. Yet he's nothing if not efficient. He can locate that psychic and be gone in a day, maybe less. Until he runs into the psychic's great granddaughter... Until his own psychic gift tells him precisely who and what Savannah Church is...

Savannah Church...
Impulsive. Intuitive. Savannah's a free spirit who collects strays, rescues fighting dogs, and manages the local no-kill animal shelter. Her life is perfect until the morning Gran Mere dies. Savannah knew this day was coming, but she hadn't expected her great grandmother would leave with a whispered warning to, 'Look for the wild rose that grows deep in the bayou. Watch for the warlock. You alone hold the key...'

Kneel Down by Chelle Bliss & Eden Butler (Nailed Down #3)

💛💛💛💛

An angsty romance that'll have you fighting for a second chance at love. The story starts out with an intense action scene, followed by all the drama you can handle. Gin and Dale won my heart with their amazing journey.

Watching Gin Sullivan struggle with what her heart wants and what's right in front of her face, gutted me at times. I found myself wanting her to fight for her happily ever after, while praying she stands up for herself.

Dale doesn't know what he'd do without Gin as his best friend, but after his ex cheated on him, his lack of trust keeps him from taking chances with his heart.

Miscommunication and assumptions lead to heart break, keeping the reader guessing if things can ever work, while yelling at the characters to pull their heads out of their butts and realize not everything is as it seems.

Great character development, with lots of depth and drama. Although I wasn't sure how I felt about certain side characters throughout the story, I'm very excited about the next book in the series!

💧  Drama
💋 Romance

Summary:
My job as a SEAL has always been to go in and save the day. But even heroes fall. Even heroes make mistakes.

My only saving grace was Gin Sullivan. It wasn't hard for me to fall for her. Any man would. She was beautiful, smart, and everything I'd ever wanted.

I had plans to tell her that, but a bullet to the gut silenced me.

Now I have a new mission, one that I can't fail:
Do whatever it takes to make Gin mine forever.

Assassin by Irish Winters (SOBs #2)

💀💀💀💀💀

Assassin is an exhilarating addition to the SOBs series, and quite possibly the best book by Irish Winters yet!

This was a thrilling story of not knowing who you can trust, while trying to figure out who's behind it all. Non-stop action that will keep you glued to the pages, unable to stop until the very end.

Summary:
Pagan Sinclair doesn't usually question his marks, but when the sister of a friend is his new target, he needs to make absolutely sure it's for a valid reason before carrying out the hit.

Vicki Hex is one of the best assassins in the world, so when someone buries her alive and leaves her for dead, she's a woman hell-bent on revenge.

Wet/Hot/Masked by Angel Payne (Honor Bound series - Books 5, 6, 7)

Three new additions to the Honor Bound series by Angel Payne. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but great stories filled with second chances and fighting for what you believe in. All are super-steamy reads, with action, romance and adventure.

I recommend starting from Book 1 since it has characters that intertwine throughout the series. Masked is by favorite one in the series so far and I can't wait for the rest of them to be released this year. I'll post links to the books on Amazon below and I have reviews posted on their as well for each individual book! Enjoy!

Eric by Irish Winters (In the Company of Snipers - Book 15)

This is the story of Eric and Shea, two very complex and wonderful characters with a history filled with joy and sorrow. Eric is my favorite book in the series so far, with plot twists you don't see coming, and a realistic view on how people handle tragedies.

Yet another page-turner from the talented Irish Winters, and a must-read, whether you've read the series or not, this will definitely draw you in. The writing is phenomal and you feel like you're part of the story, at times causing you to laugh and cry with the characters.

From the beginning, nothing is as it seems, and you find yourself doubting what you thought you knew. Filled with action, suspense, romance and drama - you can't go wrong!

Alex by Irish Winters (In the Company of Snipers Book 1)

Four years after the death of his wife and daughter, Alex Stewart has had enough and escapes to his cabin in the woods. There he comes across Kelsey Durrant on his porch, beaten and suffering from memory loss. She’s not sure who to trust, but forms a strong attachment to his dogs, especially Whisper.

Alex doesn’t want to get involved in the mess that is Kelsey’s life, but becomes very protective of her, particularly after learning part of her history from another member of his team. He discovers that her abusive husband plays the part of the worried, distraught spouse to the press, when in reality he’s out in the woods, literally hunting for his wife.

As a reader, you discover part of her history with her husband through Marks’ eyes, but it’s when Kelsey regains her memory that you feel your heart breaking. The struggle to overcome their past demons is something they need to rely on each other for, and they grow closer as he tells her the truth.

The character who captured my heart in this story was Harley. It’s obvious he’s had some hard times in his life and is trying to overcome them. He has a huge heart, and loyal to a fault. Putting his nose in other peoples business, when they’re too stubborn to go after what they deserve.

All in all, I loved this story, even though it left my heart hurting a little. It introduces you to some of the other characters that each have their own stories eventually in this series. I love the strength of the military family it’s based around, and the loyalty of everyone involved. I highly recommend listening to it on Audible, Troy Duran is amazing with the narrative. He brings each of the voices to life, no matter the gender or ethnicity. This book is a great start to a wonderful series, and I look forward to getting to know the characters even better and falling in love with them all as I continue…
