A charming retelling of Cinderella! Midnight Princess was over much too soon for me. A fairy tale with a dark twist, this was a great addition to the series.
**Spoiler alert:
The fact that Cynthia loses her virginity right after her mother beats her was so out of left field, I literally had to put the book down for a few hours and come back to it.
I didn't feel anything romantic between the two characters, mainly because there was SO much squeezed into such a short story. It just felt all physical, and I couldn't see any true feelings on Ashton's end.
It really pained me to only give this 3.5 stars, but the story line felt way to rushed, making it hard to swallow for me personally. I enjoyed the premise behind the story, but I feel it would've been given much more justice if it was a full-length book.
I'd definitely give it another chance if it was written into a longer story, so the characters relationships could be more developed. I loved the sisters and her fierce protection of them, but overall, it was just too much story squeezed into a novella-sized book.

SUMMARY:
After the untimely death of her grandparents, Cynthia was propelled into becoming a guardian to her younger half-sisters, Penelope and Charmaine. As they all lived under the tyrannical rule of their drunken mother, she constantly felt that this wasn't the life that she was meant to lead. She dreamed of one day her mother becoming sober enough for her to remember that she once loved her children. Unfortunately, that day would never come, and her heart would harden with each cruel comment from her mother.
It wasn't until her freshman year in college that she would find someone who did love her, as she deserved. Who would liquefy her hardened heart, to find the giving soul that has been hiding from her mother's tirades. It was then that Cynthia would investigate her mother's past, to find answers to who her mother has become. The answers that would come in the dead of night. Midnight Princess.
A standalone, opposites attract romance that will have you ready to turn the next page.

A beautifully woven fairy tale! Bookish Princess will have you second guessing who to cheer for, all while loving every confusing moment.
Bella wants a fresh start - away from who she is and her family, just to be herself. It's hard to do that when you've been betrothed to a beast of a man, not leaving you able to follow your heart.
Hunter is determined to make Bella his, even if that makes him come off as controlling and a jerk most of the time.
At the beginning of the story, I was confused as to whether I should hate Hunter or cheer for him, but quickly determined that he would win me over... especially knowing he'd have to work much harder to win the heroine.
This was a charming retelling of one of my favorite stories, and does the characters justice. I'm absolutely loving this series and this was my first book by the author, but I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for more!

A fight for justice, no matter the cost! Rebel Princess will have you turning pages faster than you can read. This story shows us that you must stand up for what you believe in, even if you lose everything that matters along the way.
Emmy has been lied to and cheated on, but when she digs further for the truth, she discovers that it runs deeper than she thought. I loved her strength and ability to still trust others, even if that sentiment isn't returned.
Quinn is a character that doesn't trust easily, but he finds himself enamored by Emmy and her unwavering faith in him. She's the one person who doesn't judge him by his scars, but when truths come to light, he's left unsure of his feelings.
This story reels you in from the first page and doesn't let go! The author will keep you guessing between which characters you can trust, all while rooting for the truth to be exposed and justice served once and for all. A great addition to the series!

SUMMARY:
I was born to rebel.
Against love. Against authority. Against myself.
Perfect precision, that's how I planned my life. Dancing was my whole world. I wanted to be in the spotlight with all eyes on me, but recently, my heart's pulled me in a different direction. Writing for the school paper has excited me in a way dance never has. Exposing truths trumps pirouettes and countless hours in the studio and being true to myself is more important than keeping dangerous secrets hidden.
Getting close to Colin and his lacrosse buddies allowed me access to their secrets -- but I had no idea how deep they went. On the brink of exposing them, I was set back. No sources, no boyfriend, and no way to get justice. No matter which angle I pursued, my story kept getting shut down.
Until I met the guy with the scars. The one who helped me when I didn't know what to do or who to turn to. He came into my life out of nowhere, saved me, and taught me to believe in myself. Then, when I finally did, he didn't believe in me. I had to stand on my own two feet, fight for my values and for what I needed -- for what I had earned -- and learn that justice always comes with a cost.

Fairy tale with a twist! Right Princess will have you cheering for the best friend in this classic retelling of The Princess and the Pea.
Ada has been brought up in wealth and once she learns that she has to marry into that status in order to earn her inheritance, she sets her mind on Cicero.
Theo is clearly in love with Ada, but she's friend zoned him to look for someone with a higher social status. There are times you want to shake him after some of his "fits", but he's still the one you'll be rooting for!
This was a sweet friends to lovers story, with minimal drama and a whole lot of romance. It's a good thing it wasn't a film as I would've been chucking popcorn at the screen for my annoyance with some characters, and their blindness at what was right in front of them, lol.

A heart-breaking second chance romance! Imperfect Princess is a beautiful tale of overcoming abuse, to fight for what you want in life.
Thorn absolutely broke my heart with everything that poor girl has been through. She's lost the one person that mattered the most to her and has suffered both physical and emotional abuse by the person she should be able to trust.
Kai has never forgotten her and is determined to be with Thorn no matter the cost, after believing she had died he's not risking losing her again.
This was an emotional roller coaster ride that will throw a few twists and turns in to keep you on your toes. A wonderful start to the Modern Princess Collection and I can't wait for more!

SUMMARY:
It started with fire.
Not the kind that burns inside you and melts your heart into a mess of happy feelings. A real one. One that rips through wood and disintegrates brick and bone, leaving ashes and orphans in its wake.
Death would have saved me from a rocky family life. There would be no cigarette burns on the soles of my feet, no vicious words engraved in my mind, and no Kai Madison. The friend who saw past the scars and offered me pennies for my secrets. The guy who stole my heart with a single kiss in the middle of a rose garden on a snowy winter day.
Nothing would have been easier to leave behind -- to vanish from -- but for the past four years, I've been isolated from the world, living in a hospital room and helping the Feds build a case against my foster-dad. Now I'm free and willing to risk my life to see him again.
There's only one problem. I'm no longer imperfect. I have the same heart, but a different face.

A journey of self-discovery and romance! Innocent Princess introduces us to a sheltered girl whose life is turned upside down, causing her to re-evaluate everything she thought she knew.
Zella finds out by mistake that she's actually adopted and is determined to find out where she comes from. Being sheltered her whole life has caused her to miss out on so much, but when a handsome stranger enters her world, she'll never be the same.
Ryker isn't your typical hero, but he isn't necessarily the bad guy either, just a man trying to make the best of what life has offered him.
This was a charming romance about first love and finding out what you truly want in life. I adored Zella and all her innocence, but Ryker is what really stole my heart. The perfect pairing and a happily ever after, I couldn't ask for more!

This year is all about discovering who I really am. A road trip to a place seven hundred miles away, might not seem like much, but to me it means freedom. I set out looking for adventure, I never expected Ryker would help me find it.
Ryker
I'm no prince charming, but I may just be her knight in shining armor. First, captivated by her ridiculously long blonde hair, I soon find out there is so much more to Zella than her hypnotizing locks. Turns out those hacking skills I've been practicing are about to come in handy.
A straight-laced princess meets a bad boy is this modern fairy-tale retelling full of first love, music, and just a little illegal hacking.
