Home for the Holidays by Sara Richardson

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Family is what the holidays are all about! Home for the Holidays is a truly beautiful story about three sisters, struggling with their own personal problems, but brought together again by their aunt.

This book has it all: divorce, infertility, family expectations, drama, comedy, romance, etc. My heart was pulled in so many directions and I didn't want to put the book down once I started reading.

Each of the sisters will draw you in and make you become full invested in their struggle. The characters are so well-written, it's almost as though you're visiting old friends back home.

If you're looking for the perfect book to curl up with - grab your cup of cocoa and a comfy blanket, cuz this is the perfect book to get you in the holiday spirit.

I'll definitely be reading this again closer to Christmas, but I can't recommend it enough. I still smile just thinking about the Buchanan sisters. This is a must-read for any time of year!

SUMMARY:

The Buchanan sisters all share special childhood memories of their Aunt Sassy's beloved Juniper Inn. There, they frolicked in the snow, baked sugar cookies, and celebrated the town's annual Christmas extravaganza. They haven't been back to Colorado in nearly fifteen years, but when their aunt invites them for one last Christmas, they can't say no...

With her ex-husband whisking her children away for the holiday, Dahlia decides it's time to do something for herself. Juniper Springs is just as beautiful as she remembers, but it's also full of surprises -- including the town's handsome doctor, who makes her feel like herself again for the first time in years.

To the outside world, baker Magnolia has the ideal marriage. Only the pain and sorrow of infertility have strained her relationship with her husband, perhaps beyond repair. But a holiday miracle is about to change her life.

After a whirlwind romance, youngest sister Rose is about to be married, but as the wedding draws near, she's unsettled by her fiance's expectations that she become a society wife. Spending Christmas with her family could be a necessary reality check -- or the beginning of a brand-new happily ever after.

Thanks to the strength of their sisterhood, some mistletoe, and the love of their Aunt Sassy, the Buchanan sisters will discover what it is they truly want this Christmas.

Semi-Sweet On You by Erin Nicholas (Hot Cakes #4)

🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪

Another sweet treat in the series! Semi-Sweet On You is a second chance romance that'll leave you with a sweet tooth, so have something handy.

Whitney is fiercely independent, trying to prove her worth to the new owners, especially after the emotional abuse from the men in her family. She doesn't have time for romance, so when the only man she's ever loved comes back to town, trying to save her family's business, she's in for a rude awakening.

Cam has built his fortune from the ground up, mainly to prove to everyone that he's not the lowlife they thought he was. What started out as proving a point, ends up meaning so much more when his heart gets involved.

This was a wonderful slow burn that goes at the perfect pace. Not only does it have plenty of laughs along the way, but it touches your heart with deep issues that most books seem to skip over.

My favorite part of the book was not only Didi and all her shenanigans (bless her heart), but finally getting to know more about her relationship with Letty, creating the family discord that went on for years.

I absolutely love the Hot Cakes series and adore each book more than the last, if that's even possible. The characters are quirky, genuine and lovable...with a town I'd move to in a heartbeat!

SUMMARY:

She broke his heart ten years ago.

Now he's back -- and her new boss.

And she might still be semi in love with him.

But that's no problem, right? They can keep it professional.

Until her grandmother gets involved.

She's thrilled to think that Whitney and Cam are still in love. And invites him to move in with her...and Whitney.

Of course, Whitney can handle that too. Yeah, everything is fine. Just fine.

Until Cam makes it clear that he's all in.

Having him back is very sweet, but can she really have it all? Or will it all crumble around her?
