I've been waiting for Jake's story! Paradise Cove is a heartfelt romance, filled with grief, passion and humor. Jenny Holiday has a way of writing the most sincere characters, that will pull you into the story and never let go.
I loved being able to learn more about Jake, since I fell for him in Mermaid Inn. My only note was that I strongly disliked the scenario of his past, but it doesn't take away from the rest of the story, so I just moved past it. His pain is genuine and comes across the page to draw the reader in and break your heart right along with him.
Nora is a wonderful character that you immediately feel a kinship with. Her best friends steal the show for me, and I love their interactions with one another.
I love small town romances - especially ones that take your emotions through a plethora of ups and downs. This series is one I've highly enjoyed and can't wait until the next one!

SUMMARY:
Dr. Nora Walsh has just been dumped in spectacular fashion, making it the perfect time for a major life change. She figures taking over the medical practice in tiny Matchmaker Bay for a couple of years will help her get over her broken heart, and then she can head back to the big city. But when the first man she sees looks like a superhero god, she wonders if maybe there's something to small-town living after all.
Jake Ramsey also has a broken heart -- one he never expects to heal. He doesn't need people anyway and is content hiding out in his secluded cottage on the beach. But after helping Nora with a medical emergency, he finds himself opening up to the witty warmhearted doctor. Soon the local matchmakers are working overtime to pair them off, and Jake begins to wonder if his campaign to get Nora to stay is for the town or because he can't bear the thought of her leaving.

Breathless lives up to its name and was SO worth the wait! I've been dying for Marj's story ever since I started the series two years ago, and I cried (no joke) when Helen announced that she would be writing it.
Now, anyone that's new to the Steel Brothers Saga, needs to stop right now and start at the beginning of the series. This is definitely not a stand alone, and if you're a fan, you know that the author tells the story of one particular Steel family member throughout 3 books. Yes, it's agony to wait, but I promise that you won't be disappointed.
Helen Hardt is the only author that I fully trust to emotionally wreck me with her twists and turns, even if I need to put the book down and step away for a bit to recover from certain scenes. I know the end result is worth every moment, and the Steel Brothers Saga is one journey that everyone should take part in!

Summary:
Marjorie Steel is still healing from the events of the past year, and she's happy to put her plans to study culinary arts on hold to help her best friend deal with a difficult pregnancy and two recently adopted troubled boys. The fact that Bryce Simpson spends a lot of time at the Steel Ranch is a benefit, and she's ready to see if her attraction to him might be something more.
Bryce wants to do a hard day's work on the ranch. Once his muscles give out and he collapses from exhaustion, maybe he'll stop torturing himself over his late father's horrific double life. The Steels have a different idea. They ask Bryce to take an executive position complete with a profit share. As he has a young son and widowed mother to support, it's an offer he can't refuse. The only catch is Marjorie. She's beautiful, smart, feisty, and her kisses set him on fire. But he's an empty shell with nothing to offer her, and she deserves the world.
As the sins of his father continue to haunt him, Bryce learns the horrors of the past may not yet be buried.
