Paradise Cove by Jenny Holiday (Matchmaker Bay #2)

🩺🩺🩺🩺🩺

I've been waiting for Jake's story! Paradise Cove is a heartfelt romance, filled with grief, passion and humor. Jenny Holiday has a way of writing the most sincere characters, that will pull you into the story and never let go.

I loved being able to learn more about Jake, since I fell for him in Mermaid Inn. My only note was that I strongly disliked the scenario of his past, but it doesn't take away from the rest of the story, so I just moved past it. His pain is genuine and comes across the page to draw the reader in and break your heart right along with him.

Nora is a wonderful character that you immediately feel a kinship with. Her best friends steal the show for me, and I love their interactions with one another.

I love small town romances - especially ones that take your emotions through a plethora of ups and downs. This series is one I've highly enjoyed and can't wait until the next one!

SUMMARY:

Dr. Nora Walsh has just been dumped in spectacular fashion, making it the perfect time for a major life change. She figures taking over the medical practice in tiny Matchmaker Bay for a couple of years will help her get over her broken heart, and then she can head back to the big city. But when the first man she sees looks like a superhero god, she wonders if maybe there's something to small-town living after all.

Jake Ramsey also has a broken heart -- one he never expects to heal. He doesn't need people anyway and is content hiding out in his secluded cottage on the beach. But after helping Nora with a medical emergency, he finds himself opening up to the witty warmhearted doctor. Soon the local matchmakers are working overtime to pair them off, and Jake begins to wonder if his campaign to get Nora to stay is for the town or because he can't bear the thought of her leaving.
