The Summer Cottage by Annie Rains (Somerset Lake #1)

💙💙💙💙💙

The perfect summer read! The Summer Cottage is a beautifully tangled web of secrets and regrets. My heart physically ached while this story unfolded, and yet I couldn't put it down.

Jake never wanted to return to Somerset Lake, since it only held memories of loss and heartache for him, but he'd do anything for his grandma, even if it means going against the rest of his family to honor her wishes.

Trisha is trying to start over somewhere that nobody knows what her ex-husband has done. Leaving the past behind is easier said than done. This story had my heart from the second Jake gave Petey the nickname "Copilot."

With meddling neighbors, nudist elderly mornings, greedy family and a lovable grandma - Jake & Trisha are in for an adventure that you'll want to go on again and again. I can't wait for more of the characters in this series to have their stories told!

💋 Romance

SUMMARY:

This summer, they'll learn that home is where the heart is.

Somerset Lake is the perfect place for Trisha Langly and her son to start over. As the new manager for the Somerset Cottages, Trisha is instantly charmed by the property's elderly residents and her firecracker of a new boss, Vi Fletcher. But Trisha is less enchanted by Vi's protective grandson Jake. No matter how tempting she finds the handsome lawyer, Trisha knows that if Jake discovers the truth about her past, she'll lose the new life she's worked so hard to build.

Jake Fletcher left Somerset Lake after a tragic loss, but he's returning for the summer to care for his beloved grandmother, hoping Vi will sell the run-down cottages and finally slow down. There's just one problem: Trisha, Vi's new employee. She's smart, beautiful, and kind, but Jake's job is to protect his grandmother's interests, and his gut is telling him Trisha's hiding something that could jeopardize Vi's future. However, as they spend summer days renovating the property and bonding over their love for the town, Jake realizes that Trisha is a risk worth taking -- if only she can trust him with her secrets...and her heart.

Season of Joy by Annie Rains (Sweetwater Springs #6)

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

A tender-hearted holiday romance! Season of Joy is a story filled with love, family and second chances.

Joy Benson had her heart broken last Christmas, in the worst of ways, so when she finally opens her heart again, she's determined to keep it casual, only someone forgot to explain that to her heart.

Granger Fields has two little girls to raise on his own, as well as the responsibility of the family tree farm after his father has a health scare. The last thing he expects is to fall for the one woman his daughters have grown close to.

A charming tale to get you in the Christmas spirit. Between a cat playing bodyguard for Joy, a meddling aunt, and handmade crafts, this book will fill your heart with so much joy.

I wanted to immediately go chop down a Christmas tree and make cookies after reading this! I participated in a read-along and loved the discussions we had throughout the book. Willow stole my heart in every scene, so be prepared for all the feels.

🎄 Holiday Romance

SUMMARY:

Fall in love with this heartfelt holiday romance between a down-on-his-luck Christmas tree farmer and a woman with plans to bring the merriment back to their town.

Tis the season for love.

For single father Granger Fields, Christmas is his busiest and most profitable time of the year. But when a fire devastates the Merry Mountain Tree Farm, he fears the season won't be holly or jolly unless he can convince free spirit Joy Benson to care for his two rambunctious daughters. Yet while Granger wants to focus on saving his business, Joy seems determined to shake up his family's Christmas with her festive ideas and merry making.

Joy is counting down the days until she can open her own art gallery. Babysitting Abby and Willow will help her reach her goal, and when inspiration strikes, Joy convinces Granger that her craft classes can bring even more holiday cheer to the farm. As crowds return and Joy's creative side flourishes, life with Granger and his girls begins to feel like home. But with Christmas coming nearer, can Joy convince Granger to open his heart again? Or will their newfound happiness be as fleeting as the newly fallen snow?
