I'd give The Hating Game 10 stars if it was possible! I hate myself a little bit for taking almost 3 years to discover and read it, but so glad I own the paperback, so I can revisit Josh and Lucy anytime I want.
This outrageously bitter, yet witty, office rivalry will have you laughing out loud. I highly suggest not eating or drinking while you read. (I learned the hard way, so please take my advice!)
The banter between Josh and Lucy is at an all-time high. With moments you'll want to tell your friends, because you'll honestly still laughing about it days after you've read it.
Nothing is as it seems in the story, never knowing if it's just a game/rouse, or if there might potentially be actual feelings involved.
If you read one book this year, make it this one! The dynamics with their co-workers and family, throw that extra level of entertainment into the story and I guarantee this will be one of your new favorite go-to reads!

Summary:
Nemesis (n.)
1) An opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome.
2) A person's undoing
3) Joshua Templeman
Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman hate each other. Not dislike. Not begrudgingly tolerate. Hate. And they have no problem displaying their feelings through a series of ritualistic passive aggressive maneuvers as they sit across from each other, executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company. Lucy can't understand Joshua's joyless, uptight, meticulous approach to his job. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy's overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and Pollyanna attitude.
Now up for the same promotion, their battle of wills has come to a head and Lucy refuses to back down when their latest game could cost her her dream job...But the tension between Lucy and Joshua has also reached its boiling point, and Lucy is discovering that maybe she doesn't hate Joshua. And maybe, he doesn't hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.
